I have posted before regarding my Claunch line starting with Charles Christopher Claunch b. 1853 in arkansas who Married Nancy E. Hamilton. Until now I could not find C. C. Claunch's parents, but I now have evidence to suggest his father was Jeremiah S. Claunch who is possibly the brother of Dr. James Riley Claunch.
On 1860 census C. C. Claunch age 7 is living in the hosehold of William Arledge/Alridge in poinsett county , census shows him as having substantial land/private property and slave index of 1850 shows he owns 9 Slaves.
1860 Arkansas Land Sale record list the sale of more than 200 acres of land. There are three listings all have the same parcel land #'s. One listing William Arledge as administrator for Jeremiah S. Claunch, another lists Jeremiah S. Claunch and his heirs, the final lists C. C. Claunch.
This land sale record indicates to me that Jeremiah S. Claunch died sometime around 1860 and William Arledge was tasked with settling his estate (William Arledge was once constable of Poinsett county in 1840's?). It seems to me that all the property went to C. C. Claunch (age 7) which implies that C. C. Claunch was the sole surviving heir of Jeremiah S. . Maybe Jeremiah's wife perished during child birth? Maybe she died before 1860?
Why I believe this Jeremiah S. Claunch is the brother of Dr. James Riley Claunch and the father of my Charles Christopher Claunch
1. 1880 census data for C. C. Claunch lists his father as being born in Tennessee.
2. 1850 Tennessee census shows a Jeremiah Claunch age 14 b. abt 1836 birth place Tennessee, living with James Claunch age 17 father James and mother Charlotte.
3. I have not been able to find any other census data after 1850 showing a Jeremiah Claunch b. abt 1836.
4. Although Dr. James Claunch's line is very well documented and it is listed on many different family trees that he had a brother named Jeremiah no expanded information has been entered regarding Jeremiah's life.
If anyone has information that might be helpful in connecting the dots here I would really appreciate it. I have traced my entire line back to Charles Christopher Claunch and would really like to take it further.

I was wondering if anyone can give me a documentary source for Rebecca's maiden name? Does anyone have a marriage record for them?
