I have a Gedcom called The Millicans of Los Angeles. I come through William's son John W., who married Mary Shelton and had my great-grandfather Francis Marion in Denison. His son Claud(e) is my dad's dad, who was also born in Denison. I met Claud and I have several pictures of him and he looks mixed-blood. His skin was on the swarthy side. What I'd like to know is what did William look like? Does anyone have any pictures or physical description through the oral history?

My ggg-grandparents. After researching these people for over 20 years, I have come to wonder if they were intermarried with the Cherokee and came from the hill country of Tennessee until there families were forced of their traditional lands, and they emigrated across the country with them to eventually settle in Collin County, Texas. Three of their sons married Williams sisters, who were purported to be Indians. There is a book on the "Black Dutch" (which is what ancestry my grandfather told me he was), and in the book it says that the Cherokee, Creek and Choctaw liked to intermarry with Scottish people and one of their most favored families to marry into were Millicans. I have gotten hits on searching for Claunch Cherokee people. I also read on a Black Dutch board that if your ancestors disappear, they are probably going to be found on the Cherokee rolls. Anyone have access to the Cherokee rolls?
