Hello Dorothy!
One of my Cousin's thought we were connected to Jeremiah Claunch Sr., but, I have not seen proof of it.
But, then Our line's originator is said to have been adopted, We do not know if he kept his birth surname or took the surname of his adoptive family. Also, The state of his birth has been a big debate, some say Kentucky, some Tennessee, some Virginia, and last but not least North Carolina. The counties mentioned in KY. are Mercer & Pulaski.
But, I wonder if it's Kentucky, because that is where his 1st wife was born.
He is : David B. "Davy" Claunch Born 1797 Died 5/21/1870 Colbert Co. Ala. Married: abt. 1813 To: Mary Martha Baker Born abt. 1798 KY. Died bet. 1860 - 1867 Colbert Co. Ala.
They had abt. 6 Children: 1 called Leff, I believe either before or after he married moved to KY.
My 2G Grandfather, David Jefferson Clounch Born 1834, was one of the middle children. 1 brother called Wed/Web Born abt. 1820 - 1825, I believe moved to Texas. They had 2 sisters: 1 Mary "Polly" born 1814 Married a John Crouch and lived in Mississippi, the other, all we know of her is that she Married a Henry Greene in Ala., they had a brother named John, he died when he was 13, the last brother was, William Eldridge "EL", Born 1818, He married twice , and stayed in Ala.
I would appreciate any help that you can provide, Feel free to email me directly!

Your Jeremiah Claunch, Sr. b about 1734 in PA? VA? is most likely the son of Hieronymus Glantz/Jeremy Glance 29 who arrived Sept. 23, 1732 aboard The Adventure in Philadelphia, PA. He brought his family, Marrea Mdl. 30. Anna Margreat Glance 9 and Hans Micale 4 with him having boarded this ship in Rotterdam. Marrea apparently died shortly after arriving here and Hieronymus Glantz m Erna Barbara Mack Feb. 22, 1733 in PA by Rev. Stoever. Jeremiah is reportedly their first child, a half brother to my John Michael Glantz. The name has a numberous number of spellings and settled down to Clontz in NC around the time of the Rev. War.
