My 4th great grandfather is Charles Clary (possibly Charles C Clary - I found a document listing him thus)
What I know about him:
He was born between 1820-1824 (I'm guessing 1823).
He was most likely born in Ohio, but Indiana is a possibility.
He was married to Permelia Adaline Stewart in 1842 (I can't find documentation for the marriage date or her last name).
He was married to Sarah Jane Siler in 1856.
He lived in Clinton and Montgomery Counties in Illinois for most of his adult life.
He seems to have died in Vernon County, Missouri, but possibly in Kansas.
His children were:
(with Permelia)
George D Clary b 1853
Harrison S Clary b 1854 d 1936
(with Sarah Jane)
Ella Clary b 1860 d 1899 (m. Robert S Singleton III)
Thomas Marion Clary b 1862 d 1931
James R Clary b 1864 d 1910 (my 3rd g-gpa)
N S Grant Clary b 1866 (unsure on name)
Charles A Clary b 1869
Franklin Frederick Clary b 1870
William I Clary b 1874
Edward R Clary b 1875.
I *think* his father may have been Elihu Clary b 1818 in MA and married to Parley Brooks. Elihu had at least three sons, and only George W Clary seems to be known. They lived in Ohio.
Does anyone have more information? My Clary line is so elusive, it took me ages just to track Charles down!

Many of the public ancestry trees have John and Polly from the late 17th and early 18th centuries as the parents of Thomas Jefferson Clary born ** 1831** long after the supposed parents have died. I have a John and Polly Breazeal, married in Jefferson county TN in 1807. Most of their children born in TN. The last two, Thomas Jefferson, and James Hamilton Clary were born in Indiana. I havn't been able to find parents for John or Polly(Mary).
