I'm not sure your Post was to me, but I have written about
a few Clary items and Clay's Grove. I have talked to some
of the Clary's in Missouri and there is no doubt they are
in my line beginning back in 1653 and perhaps a few years
earlier than that. My relative re: Clary's Grove began with
my GGGrandfather's son, John, who left Penna. and ended up
in Mountain Grove, MO. It was there that Abe Lincoln did
have a match with Jack Armstrong and it was urged on by the Clary Clan. My e-mail is bing_ed(a)msn.com if you would like
to contact me.

I know your original post was many years ago. I am hoping that you have some information since then. My grandmother was Lorene Clary Watkins, daughter of Dennis Clary and Lena Bensonhafer (sp.?). My mother recalls her mother mentioning Abraham Lincoln Armstrong and a wresting match...similar to your post. We cannot find Dennis's lineage. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.

This is the only Dennis I have in my database. I don't have any
information as to who he married or who his descendants might be. Phoebe Pantier

Would like to contact Linda Wright who was doing research about 1999 on Gilligan Carroll Clary's line. I believe she may have information about this journal. Also Wanda Clary Rose may have information.
I will appreciate any information about this journal!

Thanks for your post, which I just picked up on when searching for Alla Delphia Barnard Clary, Miss Alla's grandmother and my great great grandmother. I once met Miss Alla is her office in Washington when visiting Washington DC with my parents in 1961. She gave us passes to visit in the Capitol and also in the White House.
I am pleased that you have her scrapbooks.
I can tell you something about her family and one of her aunts.
Yours, Tom Webb
