I am trying to track down some information regarding the David Clary family heritage. Your email doesn't work anymore. :( I'm hoping someone from this family tree will find my comment and reply back to me.

Message Board Post:
I'm stumped. I believe my gg-grandfather was Edmond Vincent Clary born in Illinois 1835. The 1850 census states his father and mother were born in Illinois. Not many were living in IL pre 1835, particularly southern counties. Appears he had a brother Henry T. born 1832ish and a sister Jerusha Alice born 1826 (married Andrew Soward). They all lived in Gallatin, Hardin, Pope counties on the river. One of Jerusha's children was named Vachel and a Vachel Clary shows up in the 1820 IL census.
Most descendants remained in the Eagle Creek or Elizabethtown area through the mid-1900's. No connection to Menard Co. that I can reconcile.
I've spent a couple of years but can't connect any dots.
Wildcard: William Clary married Nancy Mercer in 1794 in TN. She had an illegitimate son, Edmund Vinson (father James Vinson) who did move into IL and lived in the area of my relatives. Names, though suspiciously close, may be just a coincidence.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was hoping that someone knew the origins of Lewis Clary, his father who was married to Mary Pennington and Martha Hawkins.
Thanks for your reply,

I'm afraid that all I have is his father's name, approximate birth and death dates and that his mother's name was Mary.

Hello,
I am a descendent of John Allison Clary, son of James Lewis Clary and Martha Hawkins, brother to your gg grandmother. Do you have any information on the parents of James Lewis Clary?

Russell,
This post is extremely helpful. I have linked our ancestry back to Zacki Clary. You state in this post that his parents are unknown, (possibly the son of James and Cathrine, which makes sense). Do you have any additional information for James?
