My personal take for what it is worth, maybe a penny!
Belmont courthouse burned 187-'s all records lost
Good chance Howards death, marriage records of Susan, Nancy & Cannelia went up in smoke.
Barnesville newspaper burned with all records, church in Washington, OH. possible church records, non thinking pastor went up in attic, and burned all old records in back yard.
Comments from I.D. Clary:
Thought Cannelia lived in Guernsey Co. for a while, was married and had a tin type picture of him in a 3 piece suit like a banker would wear.
Said father Andrew Jackson Clary tried to find Enoch who just slipped off the end of earth. Went so far as to hire a Psycic. (I think he went to Canada) Tin type picture has him dressed in buckskin clothes.
Howards wife Sarah Ann (Arnold) Clary had two broken hips. Lived with A.J. Clary and Hila, tried to stab Hila with butcher knife.
I.D. Clary said he can still hear Sarah screaming as sheriff took her to Guernsey Co. home.
My sister, Dorothy and I visited the Guernsey Co. Home and talked to the director.
He had Sarah Ann's admittance day and day she died, but not where she was buried. (assume with Howard wherever that is.)
He was very honest, said he was not very proud of the Guernsey Co. Home and what they did but thay was the way it was. He took us outside and showed us 6 cells about 6 foot square. Anyone admitted to home that was classified insane in that era was put in one of cells, door locked and never opened until they died. food was put in through bars, floor hosed down. Longest anyone lived was 6 months. Sarah Ann lived six months in that torture.
One more child Mary:
I received correspondence a long time ago from a lady that said a Mary Clary married a Spencer in Guernsey Co. Oh. and had a son Aden. She died very young and he remarried.
This could be either Howards daughter or Howards sister anyway no record.
Well that is my penny's worth of information today, have a good one.
One more piece of gossip: My grandma Clary died in 1969, wish I had asked more questions. The one statement she made was there were three Clary brothers, they had a fight and all three changed their names and moved. Was it Cannelia, Enoch and Samuel?
Samuel spelled his name Clairey in 1880 Wi. census.

CLARY GENEALOGY
Four Early American Lines
and Relaited Families
by Ralph Shearer Rowland
and Star Wilson rowland
copyright 1980
Library of congress 80-54651
Little or no information on Susan, Nancy, Cannelia, Mary.
Elizabeth died young, story has it she wandered off and was never found, presumed killed by wild animals.
Howard did not have a son Elisha.
The Clary book: 588 pages about 10,000 names.
Is out of print (had two printings for sure)
Is in Guernsey Co. OH. Library (placed by Dorothy Clary)
Wisconsin Historical Library, Madison, WI.(by Allen Clary)
Richland Co. WI. Library (by Allen Clary)
Maybe other libraries, placed by other family members
Hope this helps

I have Thomas Clary born 1634, but not when; and his wife as Judity Laton, no birth year on her and not death dates on either. I need to search for those and Ireland is a good place to start. Since Thomas died in 1679 and John immigrated in 1677 I need to find if Thomas immigrated or was in Ireland at the time of his death. Thanks for the tip.
On your other message, I have not made our "connection" yet and do not have Samuel or Howard Clary's families defined yet either. I need to work on that too. Thanks for sharing your information with me, it is greatly appreciated. Cyndi

There is a fairly detailed Clary genealogy that was privately published. The authors have passed away, and I do not know of its availability to you. But it would be worth trying to get a copy via interlibrary loan. The authors were Ralph Shearer Rowland and Star Wilson Rowland. - Clary Genealogy Four Early American Lines and Related Families

Ray, I was working on this just yesterday and am confused regarding dates of deaths for the John Clarys. Ones being born in 1660 and 1684; the other born 1706 and dying 1740. A will was posted on another tree indicating the John that died in 1740 was married to Mary Deveron.
"Clary, John,Baltimore Co.,25th Feb., 1739-40;
11th Aug., 1740.
To son William Devorn, land on Rock Cr., Prince George's Co.
To son Vachel, "Clarys Forest." Shd. unborn child be male, land to be divided with him.
To dau. Ruth, personalty.
To wife Mary, extx., during her life, dwelling plantation and "Clarys Forest."
To bro. William, personalty if he lives with testator's wife until he reaches 21.
Test: Lawrence Robinson, John Hobbs, Mary Grimmat.
Note: Widow renounces will and claims 1/3.
22. 213.MARYLAND CALENDAR OF WILLS: Volume 8"
So now I am confused again as to the death date of the two Johns born in 1660 and 1684...unless two Johns did both die in 1740. Sigh, I wish they had been more inventive with naming their sons...although Vachel seems to be a unique name but there a several of them also. I have not found the "brother William" John mentions in the will either.
Thanks for your response. I am trying to figure all this out and hope to someday! Cyndi

Shafter are you still out there? I am curious about another name in your family tree.
There is a Frank Myres from Arkansas living with your Frank and Lucy Clary Weaver family in the 1920 Eagle, McCurtain County, OK. census - do you know anymore about him? The spelling of Myres is unique to one of my family lines from Arkansas.
Thanks for your time.
