Not sure if we have a connection but I think my Clary's and Marley's are related by marriage. I can share notes if you like.

I think I can help you.
According to the 1900 Federal Census and 1885 Colorado State Census, Isaac Marion Clary was born Apr. 1882 in Colorado. His siblings were Sarah, b. 1879 in Texas, Dewett C., b. 1881 in Colorado and Lulu G., b. Oct. 1885 in Colorado. Parents were Isaac P. Clary, b. Nov. 1848 in Indiana, and Elizabeth J. Clary b. Feb. 1866 in Illinois. Isaac and Elizabeth married in 1878 and were living in Douglas County, CO in 1885 and 1900.
In 1900 Fed. Census, father Isaac is listed as Isaac and son is listed as Isaac M. Jr., but when compared to the 1885 CO state census, father and son share the same middle initial, P, with no junior designation. If you can't get to these census records, let me know and I can email them to you.
It appears that Josephene E. went by Eliz J. I don't know her maiden name but searching in IL, I find only five Elizabeth J.'s born in IL in 1866. One of them, Elizabeth J. Gassard, lived in Wilson, DeWitt County, IL. That by itself means nothing except our Eliza J. named her daughter Dewett and I find that interesting. You indicated she was born in Kansas but I have not found any connections yet.
According to LDS records, Marcella Adelaide Dow was born Sept. 6, 1886, in Marseilles, La Salle County, Illinois. Her parents were G.W. Dow and Florence L. Bailey Dow. I cross referenced this to the 1900 Federal Census and found her family in Sedalia, Douglas County, Colorado. Father's name was Gardner W. Dow, b. July 1850, in Massachusettes. Florence L. was born Dec. 1854 in Indiana.
They had nine children but it appears three had already left home by then since all nine were recorded as living but only six were recorded by name: Roy A., b. Oct. 1879 in IL; Gardner M. Jr., b. June 1881 in IL; Marcella A., b. Sept. 1886, in IL; Mabel E., b. June 1890, in CO; Allen G., b. May 1892, in CO; Thelma, b. Nov. 1894, in CO.
Gardner Sr.'s parents were from MA and Florence's were from Vermont.
By now you may be wondering why I have this info. My research shows that my great-grandmother, Sarah Florence (Taylor) Marley and her three children, lived with Isaac Clary in Pine, Jefferson County, CO re: 1910 Federal Census. She is listed as widowed although that may have been a cover, and as a servant working as a housekeeper for Isaac (Sr.). He was 66 and listed as divorced. She had been married to Frank James Marley, of Helena, Oklahoma from about 1905 until 1909. Frank appears in the 1910 Federal Census as divorced, living with his mother and younger sister in Helena, Oklahoma. Their oldest was born in Oklahoma but the other two children were born in Colorado.
Isaac Clary died about 1918, but I don't have a record. Sarah died in Denver in Aug. 1918. Her three children were placed into foster care. The oldest child, Robert E. Marley lived in Georgetown, Colorado and appears in the 1920 Federal Census as Morley. The other two children, Helen A. and William are not found yet.
My grandfather, Robert E., told me of Isaac and of several brothers and sisters he thought were step-siblings. One became a Marine and moved California. Not sure if this is a link to your Marine.
Isaac Clary also appears in Quaker Genealogy records I have along with my grandfather and siblings.
Hope this helps. Please email me directly for more.
Regards,
Gregory Morley
