Hello, I would love to correspond with either of you. I'm gg grandchild of John W Clary and Sarah Mahoney. They had a daughter named Grace, my great-grandmother. Thanks.

I don't know of any descendents of Owen clary but I do know a little about the descendents of James Clary (b. 1828, Ireland). I'm making an assumption that James and Owen are brothers. The 1860 Federal Census has James and Owen living at same address with their respective families in Amsterdam, NY. They are listed under the name of Cleary. James is my gggg grandfather and it seeems that he used Cleary earlier upon his arrival from Ireland and Clary later. I traced James living in Chicago in 1870 and then back to Amsterdam in 1880. I don't know if this helps but maybe we can share what we know.

This John Clary is listed in the Rowland's book, but no mention of Martha. Do you want the Rowland's info?

In the 1870 Census for Athens County, OH (Amesville), I found a John Clary who has unrelated people listed as farm laborers and domestic servants. One of those people is William Jones. Also in this household is a woman named Martha Clary. Although she has the same name as the head of household, she's listed as a servant. What I'm trying to figure out is who is this Martha? I believe that she and William Jones married, as his wife's name was Martha, and family history says that Martha was an orphan. Also, I know that one of the Clary's (Nicholas?) married William Jones' sister Catherine.
