There is a Gerrard Clary who purchased 480 acres of land in Johnson County,
MO on 1 May 1843. He lists his place of residence as Maryland.
In a biography of Alexander Greer from Johnson County, MO it lists his
marriage in 1837 to Miss
Louisa Clary, "daughter of Gerard Clary, who at that time kept a tannery at
foot of the Allegheny mountains, in Allegheny County, Maryland, now the
city of Cumberland". Alexander Greer was "educated in Frederick County,
Maryland".
Is this the Gerrard Clary who married Rebecca Waddell? Is this the same
Gerrard Clary who built the Clarysville Inn in Allegany county, MD? Does
anyone know the other children of Gerrard Clary and Rebecca Waddell?
Is he the son of John Clary and Mary Wood?
I hope someone has some answers or clues for me.
Margaret
