Researchers:
I avoid putting out virus alerts because most are just phony. In this case,
I have seen the happy.exe virus e-mailed on another list. It is non-fatal
but does send out hieroglyphic like gibberish.
As with anything, if you receive an executable program through the e-mail,
don't open it unless you are sure of the source. My policy is to NOT SEND
executable programs to any of the lists.
The happy.exe virus can't work unless it is executed (for example by double
clicking on it). Once you have it, you may not know you have it, except it
provides a fireworks display. Afterward, it can be sent to others without
your knowledge. So if you see this come across any list, just delete it.
You should notify the sender of the problem. Most of the current Anti-Virus
packages, such as Dr. Soloman, Norton, and others, can eliminate it.
If by some chance you've already run it and don't have the above, below is
how to delete it.
If you feel you must reply to this, please send your response directly to
me, and NOT THE LIST. Thanks.

If you have been hit with the happy.exe virus:
===========================================
To terminate a happy99.exe worm infection-
Search for the following files on your hard drive:
happy99.exe; liste.exe; ska.dll; ska.exe; and wsock32.dll.
Delete them.
(Everyone running Windows must have wsock32.dll. The worm renames your
computer's original wsock32.dll as "wsock32.ska." Do NOT delete this file!
Rename "wsock32.ska" as wsock32.dll after you delete the infected
"wsock32.dll.")
This worm\virus propagates itself by emailing itself to a new victim by
copying an email address and posting name and sending itself without the
infected host's knowledge! (It makes a list of emails addresses in
the"liste.exe" file that the worm installs.)
An infection is signalled by a graphic fireworks explosion but the worm then
goes to background.
Hope this helps. Happy 99.exe infected resoguit-L last week.
I finally verified that my Elizabeth Jane Cleary McMahon was the daughter of
Michael Cleary and Bridget Heime Cleary. This was verified through Elizabeth's
Marriage Certificate. As soon as I verify her birthdate and get her Birth
Certificate, I hopefully will know more about the Cleary Family. I want to
thank you for your help. After I get a little more info, I will contact

long way to go, but am getting there slowly. Betty Martin, BMartin268(a)aol.com
Hi Nicole,
I couldn't seem to find your genealogical data at the ICQ site, probably
just didn't spend enough time there. By any chance, do you have a Charles
Michael Cleary, born around 1915 or so? He married Ruth Minor.
Thanks, Steve
I have lost your email address
please can you email it to me

I am looking for info on my Cleary line from Jefferson County, Kentucky.
My grandfather was John Charles Cleary, born 1889. I believe his father's
surname may have been McClerk or McCleary before he immigrated from
Ireland, and his mother's name may have been Elizabeth McDaniel.
If you have any info, please contact me.

I am just starting to trace my family tree and I only have a couple of
names. My grandfather was Will David Clary born: ? His wife's name was
Mary ?...
His children were Ernest Lee, Herbert, Emmett, Iva, and a son that I can
only remember from my childhood as Poor-Boy... His name may have been Will
or William. I am going to the cemetary this week and can get better names
and dates then. Anyone have anything that resembles these names from
Brunswick County, Virginia?
Thanks
Steve
In answer to the question about getting social security applications:
For $7, you can get Social Security to send you a copy of the original form
that your ancestor filled out. This will tell his/her parents' names, place
of birth, employer, occupation of applicant, etc.
>
>Send the person's name and social security # to:
>Social Security Administration
>Office of Central Records Operations
>FOIA Workgroup
>P.O. Box 17772
>300 N. Greene Street
>Baltimore, MD 21290
>
>Also, the Ancestry.com website will generate a letter for you to accomplish
this. It is one of their free services. Search their Social Security Death
Index at
http://www.ancestry.com/ssdi/advanced.htm
and when you find your ancestor, click on "Write letter."

I have pulled up a SS death record for Elva Clary. His SSN is
251-30-5998. Born 6 Mar 1907. Died Jun 1984. Last residence Cowpens,
Spartanburg, SC.
Does anyone have any more info on this person and/or line? It is a
possibility that this is my grandfather.
Thank-you,
Nathan Truitt >>
Nathan,
I am related to a whole bunch of those Cowpens, Clary's. Based on the age ---
your Elva Clary would be a contemporary of my Grandmother, Lizzie Myrtle Clary
(B 1908 D 1997). My grandmother was one of 12 but none of the sibs were Elva's
--- what I do know is that they all had a bunch of nicknames... so the
question is who are your parents? My dad lived in Cowpens when he was young...
I could ask if he knows them...

Searching for any info on Ellen (Ella?) Cleary.
My information is very sketchy. I only know that she married a John
Laughlin.
They had one child: Anna M. Laughlin, b. 1887, d. 1948 in Buffalo, NY.
Ellen's birthplace is listed only as Ireland on Anna's death certificate.
I'm new to this list. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
