Hello,
I'm trying to find out if Robert Rogers, born in 1792, (and had the
following children: Henry, Margaret, David Robert, John Preas, Mary, William
Carroll, Robert McDaniel, James, Mary E. J., and Newton Van Buren) was
married to a Nancy Clary in 1817 in Tennessee. There is confusion to the
Rogers researchers if Robert was married to a Nancy Clary or a Nancy Jane
Davis. Can anyone confirm either? Thanks.

I need to find the name of a CLARY who married a Rachel MARTIN ca 1810,
probably in Menard Co, IL. Don't know if he died or there was a divorce.
Rachel married Banister BOND in 1821. Supposedly she had 4 children at the
time. Know that one was named Caffrey CLARY and have been told that a girl
was Susan. I'm trying to find the parents of both Rachel and Banister - they
were my g-g-grandparents.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Happy holidays to everyone.

I am seeking info on: MARGARET CLARY m. CURTICE LAKE dec. 2, 1784. Curtice
died in Shelburn, Vermont. Have no info on Margaret. Could there be a
connection to your lines? Thank you, Dianne L. Fulton
There was another William Clary in Arkansas, too.
(He also had a son named William, but not sure
if young William went to Ark.)
They were in Columbia Co. Ark. in 1860.
He came there from GA, and from SC before that.
The 1850 & 1860 Census listings are included below.
I know Diane B. is researching this William, but if
anyone else here is researching him, or any of the Clarys
around Spartanburg SC and we haven't
already been in touch, email me privately.

Here's a response to a very early Clary-L question sent to me regarding
William Clary in AR:
There were several Clarys from Menard Co. Ill. who moved to Washington Co.
Ark. These
Clary's applied for Land Patents in that County.
John S. Clary moved there with his son William P. Clary and other Clary
family members.
William Price Clary moved to Smith Co. Texas about 1842 along with William
and Cynthia McAdams and their son James McAdams and Mary Clary.
... also found a William J. Clary on the Washington Co. Ark. Records.
Hope this helps.

Ken and Clary researchers:
The meaning of the CLARY name has been equated to that of CLARK which was
described as "clerk". Others?
Regarding a Coat of Arms - basically does an individual have "right to a
Coat of Arms" - well, possibly. If you are the first son and so are all
your ancestors back to the establishing of it.
The College of Arms will be happy to research this for you for a few
thousand pounds. But perhaps it might be better to go the below site first.
Probably the best source regarding any Coat of Arms can be found here:
http://www.sog.org.uk/leaflets/arms.html
That said, if you just want a Coat of Arms to decorate your web page or your
living room, I'm sure there are places that will sell you one. But caveat
emptor!
