The following is a site for genealogy books. Kay Rockett is a cousin of
my husbands from another list. Please check out her site.

I'm happy to announce that I've set up a new site for the sale of
genealogy books. Rockett's Genealogy Books is an associate of Amazon.com
and will make every attempt to keep you updated as to "what's new" with
my favorite publishers as well. The site is still VERY much under
construction, but valuable links have already been established. If you
are an individual (as opposed to a company) and have a few books to
sell, you can list them there. And anytime you want to visit the
Amazon.com site, you can go there through the link on this page. Please
check it out and bookmark it to return often! Thanks!!

does this book include McClary's as well as Clary's? I am just getting
started, but my family (McClary) members are from Charleston and Kingstree,
SC. I would appreciate any helpful hints anyone has to offer on getting
started.
Thank you,
Angela McClary Jensen
The book is:
Clary Genealogy 4 Early American Lines and Related Families
by Ralph Shearer Rowland and Star Wilson Rowland
When I spoke with their son (sorry I don't have his name) his phone # was
703-273-4891 and I believe that he lived in Fairfax, VA.

Could some please give the full title of this book or a little more about
exactly what it is... sounds like it could be helpful.....
My Clary's are South Carolina Up County Clary's --- any one out there
researching Clary's in the Spartenburg, Gaffney, Cowpens area of SC?

Thanks to this list, I have already been in touch with one new cousin. So I
guess it's time to make the request official. I am a descendant of George W.
Lewis and Evvilina Clary, who lived and died in Doniphan Co., Kansas. Those
who have read the Rowlands' Clary book will know that Evvilina was the
daughter of William H. Clary b. 22 Jan 1792 in PA and Elizabeth Brown b.
1802 in KY. They were married 27 Jan 1820 in Franklin Co., IN. William H.
Clary was the son of Vachel Clary b. 22 Mar 1765 in Frederick Co., MD and
Nancy Kilgore b. 25 Jul 1773 in PA. Elizabeth Brown was the daughter of John
Brown, about whom I have no information except that he was residing in
Franklin Co., IN in 1820.
Evvilina's descendants are not in the Rowland book, so I am particularly
interested in hearing from anyone researching these lines. My
great-grandparents were Samuel E. Lewis b. 2 Jun 1868 in Troy, Doniphan, KS
and Arminta Jane Miller, b. 2 Jun 1870, Troy, Doniphan, KS.(Ever since I saw
their tombstones in Courter-Ritchey Cemetery in Troy, I've enjoyed the
thought of them celebrating birthdays together every year). My Dad left KS
as a young man and I've only been back a few times. I would love to hear old
family stories, learn who married who and so forth.
Over the years I've read Doniphan Co.,KS census from 1860 to 1920, but the
one chance I had to visit Courter-Ritchey Cemetery was too early in my
research to know all the surnames I should have looked for. If anyone in
that area can tell me how to find the cemetery records, I would appreciate
it. If anyone would be willing to photograph tombstones for me, I'd be happy
to cover expenses.
Thanks to all that census work, I have a good bit of information about other
families in Doniphan, so if I can help anyone there, I'd be glad to. I also
have some headstone photos to share, including George and Evvilina's. As
this is a CLARY list, I'll just mention quietly that I have some information
about allied lines, including Lewis, Mears, Miller, Mix, Shelton and Wykert,
to share and exchange.
As I remember family reunions in Troy, everybody was welcome, unto the fifth
and sixth cousins, so I'd also like to hear from any descendants of William
H. Clary and particularly Vachel, as it was my uncle Vachel whose name,
passed back and forth through the generations, led me to the Clary
connection in the first place.

THat is not the correct number, wrong area code for sure...since he lived in
the 301 area code (MAryland), I will call him and ask since it is a local
call for me..(though I am in area code 703)..

I know everyone is wondering where the Rowland book is. I was given the phone
number to contact Rowland's son as 713-273-4891, by Phoebe Bush. I don't know
his name and get a "your call cannot be completed as dialed" message. Its in
the Houston area. If anyone knows his name I will try to find him. (I wasn't
given the name, just the number). I have the first 100 pages copied from my
visit to the Library of Congress, but will need to get his permission to
finish copying the book. Help me out here somebody? Thanks, Vikki
I am new to this mailer so haven't heard about the Rowland book being
reprinted. I am definitely interested. I have searched everywhere for a copy
to no avail.
I haven't seen any posts to this list for some time, except a recent
unsubscribe. Has anyone found out anything about the possibility of a reprint
of the Rowland book? It seems like someone was working on this. I think
there was a lot of interest and now nothing....is everybody taking a break for
the summer???
