Hi,
I'm a newcomer to this list. I am researching the family of Timothy Cleary
who was born c.1869 in Tipperary (Glen of Aherlow), son of Denis Cleary &
Bridget Slattery. I don't know yet if he had any siblings. I think he had a
cousin also named Timothy Cleary.
Timothy Cleary emigrated to the US around 1898, and settled in Brooklyn, NY,
where he worked for a railroad. He married Elizabeth Daley, daughter of
Patrick Daley & Anastasia Walsh (or Welch), in 1900. I believe they had 5
children, one of whom - Mary Cleary Donaldson, was my wife's grandmother.
Elizabeth Daley Cleary died in 1910. Shortly thereafter, Timothy married
Catherine Cunningham. Timothy himself died in Brooklyn in 1918.
If anyone out there recognizes these names please contact me. Also, I would
like to know if this list is archived, and if past digests are searchable.
Thanks very much.

Have CLARY information - willing to share:

Hi,
I am new to the list. I am seeking a very elusive clan of Canadian
McCleary's.
I have little information, but I will throw it out and pray.
My 3rd G-grandmother was Mary McCleary. Born February 12, 1846 in Bloomfield,
New Brunswick, Canada.
Mary married Isaiah London in 1871, and they had 8 children that I know of.
Mary died in Monticello, Maine on June 19, 1931.
Mary's parents were James McCleary, born Ireland, and Polly Tracy.
These people managed to dodge every Canadian census ever taken!
I know of no other people searching these particular McCleary's, but I will
cross my fingers. The name was occasionally misspelled McClary by Mary's own
children.
Can anyone help me, and can I help anyone else?
Thanks for having me. Lisa Zajkowski
