hi i've not long started my family tree, but I noticed you wanted details about George Clarkson...
he married Harriet Botham Colby in 1824 in Sherburn and had 7 children and he died in 1899 in Sherburn.
I have the following information on him -
1841 Census- Living in Sherburn with wife Harriet and 6 children- occupation Butcher
1851 Census - Living at Manor House Sherburn with wife Harriot and children, Christopher, Elizabeth, Margaret and William- occupation Farmer of 255 Acres. Employing 3 labourers.
1861 Census - Living at Farm House, Sherburn with wife Harriet and daughters Elizabeth and Margrat- occupation Farmer of 300 Acres. Employing 2 labourers and 3 boys.
1871 Census - Living at Manor House, Sherburn with wife Harriet daughters Elizabeth and Margaret and grandson Thomas- occupation Farmer of 300 Acres. Employing 4
1881 Census - living at High Street, Sherburn. with daughter Margaret and gt. grand daughter Katie Newton Laycock. Widow - occupation Farmer
1891 Census - Living at High Street, Sherburn. with daughter Margaret . He was listed as Widow occupation - Farmer
George died in 1899
