Hi,
I just posted an old newspaper articvle reporting the arrests of "blacklegs, gamblers, thieves and ruffians" in New Orleans, Louisiana, including Reuben RYNDS, Henry CLARKSON and William GLENN, who went by the alias "Boston Bill."
This was scanned from an original issue (NOT microfilm!) of the Newark Daily Advertiser newspaper (Newark, NJ) dated April 22, 1837, and you can see it online here:

I have a George Clarkson b. @1800 in Yorkshire Eng. who married a Mary Ann Thompson (native of London), they married June 1828 at Bowes, Yorkshire, Eng. (poss. St, Giles). They moved to NY in the early 1830's. Anyone have info. on Clarkson's from this area of Yorkshire?
