This is cool. I hadn't found them in 1850, but, I'll tell you, the census takers have made me laugh so many times with their names. Mackson. . .what a mess huh?
Anyway, I believe you about Sarah, just hadn't found her in 1860. If you check the 1860 census, 1) Abram is Abner, named after Daniel's brother, Abner; 2), Alice is most likely Alsepeth who married Jacob Yates (we have a contact from this family); and 3), I believe that by 1860, Martha is probably deceased.
The marriage record for Daniel and Ann Elizabeth Malone is confusing since on son Daniel's death certificate (I believe this is the correct son), it lists his mother as a Bowen. It is believed that Ann was married once, shortly before Daniel and the fellow probably died; either that or she was raised by a Malone family after the unfortunate death of either one or both parents - this is not uncommon either, nor would it be uncommon for them to use both names, especially if a "parent" came in an signed for their marriage.
I have added Martha and Sarah and am going page by page through 1850 Symmes Twp. We would be cousins through the Clarkson family.

I found a listing in the Lawrence County, Ohio Marriage Index for Daniel Clarkson and Ann Liza Bowen. They were married on Sept. 5, 1832. There's a listing in the 1850 Symmes, Lawrence County, Ohio census for them. The name is mistakenly spelled as Mackson. They are living near Abner Clarkson and Samuel Clarkson. The children listed are Sara A. bn. abt. 1834, Abram bn. abt. 1839, Martha bn. abt. 1841, Lucinda bn. abt. 1843, Alice bn. abt. 1846, Samuel bn. abt. 1847 and Rhoda bn. abt. 1849. There's also a listing in the 1860 Lawrence County census for them. The names and ages are off a little. If you have access to Ancestry, take a look and let me know what you think.
Thanks!
Renee

I have 7 children for Daniel and Elizabeth Malone Clarkson: Abner, born about 1838; Lucinda, born about 1842; Alsepeth J. born 1844; Samuel V., born 1848; Rhoda, born about 1851; Rebecca born about 1854; and Anne Elizabeth born about 1858.
I, particularly, do not have the family in 1850, but there is no Sarah listed.
If you have info on Sarah, I would love to add it. Daniel is my great grand uncle.
I have several contacts on the VanMeter (Daniel's sister, Jane Clarkson, married John VanMeter) and one on the Clarkson side.
Tricia

Would you happen to have any info on Sarah Jane Ann Clarkson? I believe she was the daughter of Daniel Clarkson. He was the son of Samuel Clarkson. Sarah was born about 1837 in Ohio. Her father, Daniel, was born abt. 1810 in PA. Thanks!
