I have discovered a little bit more regarding America Jane Clarkson. She was living in Jennings County, IN in 1843, but married Benjamin Mattingly in 1844 or 45 - maybe in Ky. They were living in Mason County, KY in 1845. She died in the 1850's - does anyone have information on her death or on Benjamin's family? Thanks.

A first cousin of mine, now deceased, Bessie Pernetta Adams, married
Chester Charles Clarkson in Kaufman County, TX. Chester was the son
of Edward A. Clarkson and wife Josephine Richey.
I might perhaps find Ed Clarkson in the 1900 census in Texas to find out a
bit more about that family, should you like.
Kindness.

I have an extract of Parish Records as follows:
Parish of Douglas, County of Lanark, April 21, 1805.
Grizzel, lawful daughter to Andrew Gold in Ponfeigh and Janet Clarkson his spouse was born on the 16th inst and baptized today.
It is on the same page as the baptism of my ancestor James, son of Benjamin Clarkson. Janet and Grizzel are names that crop up in my Clarksons, but I do not know how the Janet in the record above is related, but I think it is likely.
