His wife was America Jane Clarkson, daughter of William and Elizabeth (?) Clarkson. This family lived in Shelby Co., KY in 1834 when they were selling their land. They buy land in Jennings Co., IN in 1837. The father, William (born about 1797 VA) died in Jennings Co., IN before May, 1837.

Page 293: Elizabeth Clarkson the widow of William Clarkson, dec. vs. the heirs of William in a petition to set off her dower and partition the real estate. William's heirs were listed as: Elizabeth, America Jane, the wife of Benjamin MATTINGLY, Eliza, the wife of William Anderson, and Zerelda and
Henry Clarkson with Henry Clarkson as their guardian. Enoch Denton had purchased the interest of the MATTINGLYs in this real estate. John King, John O. Latimore, and Anthony Pennock were appointed to make the partition
and set off the dower, which they did and reported their results to the court. Nov. 13, 1848.

JACKSONVILLE - Charles F. McKean, 80, of Jacksonville, formerly of rural Roodhouse and Murrayville areas, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at St. Frances Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Murrayville, the son of Howard E. and Mayme Clarkson McKean. He married Frances Eloise Hays in 1949 in Lynnville; she died in 2004.
Mr. McKean worked at Anderson Clayton Foods for 38 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors: son, William C. (wife, Joyce) McKean of Jacksonville; daughter, Janice (husband, Richard) Schenebricker of Colona; two granddaughters; three brothers, James and Howard McKean, both of Woodson and Jesse McKean of White Hall; and sister, Helen (husband, Russell) Hicks of Woodson.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Mackey-Daws Funeral Home, Murrayville. Burial: Manchester Cemetery.
