Hi cousin!
Lou in Indiana sent me the URL for this conversation just now. How exciting! Jacob and Lavinia FAUSSET are my great great grandparents also, and I would LOVE to have a copy of his tombstone photo. We visited Lavinia's grave last year, took photos, and did a little research at the courthouse. I descend through their daughter Phebe Ann who married Leonard PARSONS. And you are .....?

Lou, I'll be happy to email you a photo of the tombstone. Although the cemetery is in Madison Co., it's right on the edge of the county where it joins Hamilton and Hancock counties, so it's easy to get them confused.
I will also send you an extract of what I have on the Clarksons and maybe you can filll in some of the gaps.
Regards,
Phil

Thanks for the reply. I have a picture of Lavinia Clarkson Fausett's tombstone, but not Jacob's. I knew he was buried in Madison Co., IN, although my message seemed to indicate that I thought he was buried in Hamilton Co.. I tried to locate the cemetery where he was buried, but was not successful. I received better directions to it, and when I made a trip back, the east access to the road was closed for sewer construction, and I didn't know how to find the road from the west. I just haven't got back there again. I would like to have a copy of his tombstone. What info are you seeking on the Clarkson family? I am descended from Lavinia's sister, Luamy Clarkson Jaques. ~ Lou

Lavinia is indeed buried at East Hill. Her husband, Jacob V. Faussett, is buried in the Faussett Cemetery in Madison Co., IN. He died in 1867, and Lavinia moved with some of her children to Neosho Co., KS. I have digital copies of both tombstones, if anyone would like them. I would also be willing to trade info on the Faussett/Clarkson families. Jacob and Lavinia were my g-g-grandparents.

Subject: William Clarkson 1820 Rising
Hi listers
Mary Clarkson married Samuel Paton in 1805 in Kilmarnock, Ayr. They moved to
the Bridgegate,Cannongate area of Glasgow around 1810 and had 4 more
children. William Clarkson, James Clarkson and John Clarkson were witnesses
at the births of at least the next three in 1813, 1814, and 1817.
While googling around the net I found a William Clarkson, a shoemaker (a
common family business)was arrested in the 1820 Rising and sent to NSW. I
have not been able to find out any more about him. Does anybody have him on
their radar? Would really like to know who his parents were.

Thank you Carol for your reply. I had received the information from a descendant since I posted the message. Are you connected to the Clarkson family or did your mother just do research for someone else.
Thanks again ~ Lou
