I know of 2 Samuel Clarksons from Pa. One settled first in Morgan Co then to Muskingum and was Postman. The other to Lawrence County, his wife was Elizabeth, he was farmer and timberman, I have many of the children you list from the Lawrence Co Samuel, He is my GGG Grandfather, kinda famous for conviction of possession of counterfeit money then was pardoned, this started in 1846, have much Clarkson info and have a Samuel Giles Shumate in the line, If this is your line would be very happy to trade info. I just don't have the Shumate line ran, he married a VanMetre (Vanmeter) lady.
In response to the inquiry about Elizabeth Clarkson and Granville Coffey. I
have some information, mostly family facts passed down, that Elizabeth was the
daughter of Nathan Clarkson and Mary J. Penn. I have information on them if
you are interested. I never confirmed this as my line comes from another one
of Nathan's daughter's. He had 18 children with 3 wives. You can contact me
at Tandkedwards(a)aol.com if you like.
