We now have several results back and some success stories from the Claxton/Clarkson DNA Surname project. Several people have contributed funds for their kinfolk to be tested, and as a result, we have a significant amount of matching funds made available that will expire at the end of 2004 if not used. I hate to leave this money on the table - so please use it if you're considering testing at all.
Four $25 contributions are available (one per test kit) and one is available at $21. These can be used by new participants or anyone wanting to upgrade their tests already performed. These offers expire at the end of 2004.
I also have a full scholarship available for any Claxton/Clarkson male descending from James Clarkson/Claxton who was born about 1775, died 1815 and lived in Lee Co Va with several male descendents. This offer does not expire.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact me directly or feel free to visit our website provided to us for this testing. I'll list the link at the end of this message.
If you want to order tests or upgrades, I'll apply these contributed scholarships on a first come first serve basis.
If you descend from James and are a Clarkson/Claxton name carrying (and therefore DNA carrying) male, contact me directly and I'll arrange for your free kit to be sent.

Happy New Years everyone!!

Have you found any further information on your Clarkson ancestors? My last name is Clarkson and I have Clarkson ancestors that settled in Lacolle, Quebec from Yorkshire England in 1799. From that point Clarkson family members traveled to other parts of Canada and NY.
Write back I ould be glad to discuss what I know.

Was wondering if anyone had any info on the above? On my Grandfather Francis Jack Pink's birth certificate she is stated as his father with George William Pink as his father. However, in the 1901 census George seems to be totally missing, and Frances is listed as the wife of William John Pink!? Am now totally confused! *grins*
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
John

Hi, am VERY interested in this family, having just purchased a copy of my Grandfathers birth cert. He (Francis Jack Pink) was the son of George William Pink and Frances Catherine Georgina Pink nee Clarkson. However I can find no trace of a marriage for George and Frances, but apparently a marriage between William John Pink and Georgina does exist, as they are in the 1901 census!? Any ideas whats going on here? Would be very interested in any light you might be able to shed on this one.
Cheers
John
