Good idea, thanks . . . but I still can't find them. I've also tried Clackson, but without success. I'm now ploughing through passenger lists. Good luck with your own searches.

Just a suggestion: I found my missing Clarkson listed as 'Clerkson' in 1901 census.
My Clarkson is Emmaline Clarkson. Emmaline married William Colley. They
lived in Ontario, Canada, the township of Amaranath in 1871, in Wellington
North in 1881 and 1891. I haven't found Emmaline in the 1901 census yet,
but she died in 1904 and is buried in the greenwood/ Spring Brook Cemetery
in Orangeville, Ontario Canada. On the 1891 census it lists that Emmaline
was born in Ontario and that her father was born in England, her mother
born in the U.S. any further information by anyone would be most welcomed! Lisa

The mother of these children was the author of a charming book filled with
essays and poems about her life, husband, children etc, during the 1820s and
1830s which could be of great interest to descendants of this family. I'm
trying to discover where she went with her 5 surviving little girls after
her husband's death in 1847 and what ultimately became of her.
Has anyone come across her?
