Dear listers, I'm at a loss on this one..... Ifinally found my
Elizabeth
McCormick Clarkson on the 1880 census living with her Mother Sophia
Compton
McCormick (widow of Henry McCormick) and 3 of Elizabeth's children, John
H.,
Emma. and James in New Windsor. Found one of the missing daughters
Carrie
in
Newburgh living with aunt and Uncle J. B. Russell and Mary Bull Russell
(Elizabeth's sister).
I beleieve the other missing daughter Ella A. may have been deceased as
there
is no mention of her in any of our family records other than her birth.
Elizabeth McCormick Clarkson is listed as married (not widowed) and
yet
I
have not been able to locate her husband James Clarkson b. @1833 in this
census.....
and I have not been able to find a death record for James. Most of
Elizabeth's family belonged to Vails Gate Methodist church and her
parents
are buried there. I wonder if anyone has access to their records that
might
be able to tell me if James and Elizabeth Clarkson are buried there???
Sure would appreciate the help

If anyone goes near the Jennings Co IN courthouse I would love to get a death
certificate of George. Will pay postage and zerox.
> 39/39 Clarkson, James, 28, M, IN, Farming, RE $1000, P.P. $300
> Elsie S. 22, F, IN, Keeps House
> Sidney, M, IN
> De_____, Charles, M
> _______, ______, 14, F
now the 14 year old girl could be James's sister Bell E. Clarkson. She
was born in 1856.
Charles De___ could be a Charles Denton- a cousin maybe. Elsie would
die soon because James would marry Margaret Heath 31 Mar 1880.
Would appreciate any info on James clarkson being commissioner of
Jennings Co. When did he run? What ticket? Any controversy? Is he
listed in the "Way we were" book or "History of Jennings co" book??????
If anyone finds George or James in 1880 census I would appreciate a
heads up.
Thanks. Donna
