Subject: [TXHUNT-L] ROBINSON POTEET HALL
My grandparents William Loyd Robinson and Maude Poteet were married in
Hunt County on Aug. 10, 1913. Maude Poteet came to Greenville with her
parents Lucius Bradley Poteet and Sarah Malinda Hall around 1895 from
Jonesville, Lee County, Virginia. Sarah's father Jacob Jasper Hall
brought his second wife and family at the same time. Lucius was also
married to Mary Elizabeth Steward. He raised 18 children in Greenville.
Loyd came to Greenville around 1908 with his parents Thomas Monroe and
Jerusha Clarkson from Hancock County, Tennessee. I have extensive info
on the Poteets, Clarksons, Halls and their families but am trying to
find out more about the Robinsons. I would love to find further data and
am willing to trade info. Nancy Waddell

CLARKSON (d. 1706)
Recently I asked the Maryland Public Archives to do a "Genealogical
Search"
on William Clarkson who died around 1706 in Dorchester County, Maryland.
They provided me with;
(1) PREGOGATIVE COURTS (Wills)
William Clarkson, Liber 12 ff. 76-77, 1706,
MSA SM16-18, SR 4406-1
The Will named son, William, Thomas, Robert and Richard and various
unnamed
parcels of land. This is about what I expected and pretty much coincides
with the work on the CLARKSON family in Colonial Families of the Eastern
Shore of Maryland; Volume 7.
(2) PREGOGATIVE COURT (Inventories and Accounts),
William Clarkson, Liber 26 ff. 97-99, 1706,
MSA SM 13-38, Roll 67-6
Again, nothing new here that isn't covered in Colonial Families of the
Eastern Shore
(3) PREGOGATIVE COURT (Inventories and Accounts),
William Clarkson, Liber 31 f. 113, 1710
MSA SM 13-45, Roll 69-2
Here is where the surprise came in. This document lists Ruth, as Extx.
and
her husband Edmund Goodrich. I think that we now have TWO WILLIAM
CLARKSONS
because the Maryland Archives also sent me the generally accepted
information
on William Clarkson as follows:
(4) PREROGATIVE COURT (Inventories and Accounts).
William Clarkson, Liber 35A f. 69, 1713,
MSA SM 13-52, Roll 70-3
This document names William Clarkson's widow, Sarah, as Extx. and her
current husband, JAMES BROWN.
IS ANYONE FAMILIAR OR HAVE ACCESS TO THE 1710 DOCUMENT (#3 above) ?
POSSIBLY THIS IS A WILLIAM CLARKSON FROM ANOTHER MARYLAND COUNTY.
Ron

Dear Sandy, would you have the lineage on the Pauline Clarkson Ramsdell
in your posting of Feb 12, 2000? I am looking for info on my gg
grandfather
James C. Clarkson b. @1833 in unsure (possibly Mass.), married Elizabeth
McCormick in 1855 in VailsGate, New Windsor, NY...children: John H., Ella
A., Carrie,Emma, and James. I'm not sure what year they moved to Newburgh
but have several of them there in the 1890's. Carrie married Frank R.
Conklin
1888 and Emma married ?(possibly William) White. I have not been able to
find the parents of James C. Clarkson or his death year and
place..........
