Subject: Elizabeth Conkling m. John Clarkson 15 Oct. 1762
Hello Conklin friends, Does anyone have this Conkling in their family
line?
I have both Conklin and Clarkson in my family lines...
My gguncle John Clarkson was born 1858 in Vails Gate, Orange co. NY
d. 1943
Cornwall on Hudson. He was the 1st mayor of Cornwall on Hudson (prior
to his
term in the late 1930's early 40's the position was called president).
John's sister were 1. my ggrandmother Carrie Clarkson Conklin m. to
Frank R.
Conklin (son of Frances C. Conklin and Martha J. McKee), and Emma White.
John's parents were James Clarkson( of England) and Elizabeth
McCormick (of
NY and connected to the Bull family of Orange Co.,NY).
John's wife was Cassie Walsh daughter of George Walsh. To my
knowledge,
John and Cassie did not have any children as none are mentioned in his
obit.
All parties listed were of Orange Co, NY.
If any of these names cross your family line, I'd sure like to hear
from you.
Thanks so much,
Audrey (of Orange co., Florida)
