The family notes of my James Columbus Clarkson b.1833 (unsure where born but
was living in New Windsor,Orange Co, NY in 1860 and 1870) say that James'
father was David M. Clarkson (obviously not this one as James was 26 in 1860
and David was 30).
Perhaps David was a brother??
Family notes on the Clarkson's are unclear but here is what is written:
David Augustus Clarkson and his brother Frederick Clarkson were on the
committee at Old Trinity Parish, NYC for the inauguration of General George
Washington according to records of the Old Trinity Parish.
several blank lines and then
Son David M. Clarkson was a warden pf Trinity Parish: 1794-1815
his son, James Clarkson born in 1833 married in 1855 to Elizabeth McCormick
born 1836.
more blank lines
David M. Clarkson married a ? Shepard of NY.
1860 census says Columbus Clarkson was born in VA
1870 census says James Clarkson (same person) was born in MA
James Columbus Clarkson died sometime between 1870 and 1875 as his wife
Elizabeth is listed as a widow in the 1875 NY state census in New Windsor.
Thanks for any help out there,
Audrey

Searching for descendants of Joseph Clarkson and Sarah Morey. They were married in Racine Cty, WI in 1846 and had children Caroline, George William, Mary, Orville, John F., Sarah and Ida. Mother Sarah died in 1872 and Joseph remarried widow Louisa Weissert and they had Vernetta Louise Clarkson. All the children were born in Racine.
Mary died as a child. George William and Orville did not marry. John F. died at age 33 shortly after marrying Hattie Taber. Sarah married Joseph Marx and had seven children in Lewis Cty, MO. Ida married a Grant or a Miller and lived in Wyoming in the 1920s. And Vernetta married George Haines and also lived in Lewis Cty, MO. I have no information about Caroline.
Looking for any information on descendants of this family.
