I'm new to the list, as well as to genealogy :o). My ggrandmother was Sarah
A. ( I believe Agnes) Colley. I have Emiline Clarkson listed as her mother
and Emiline married to William Henry Colley, both which may have been born
or from Orangeville,Ontario Canada. Anyone with information please lets
swap our info! Lisa
Hi,
I am the new host of our CLARKSON list, this is my first attempt to host
any list so I hope I don't mess up. And I will welcome any help. My
CLARKSON start in Blackley, England 1749, comes with the British army
1777 and decides he was on the wrong side(:) ), settles in Essex County,
VA marries Mary ADAMS, has a family of 5 boys. James dies in 1824 and
Mary in 1830. There are lots of descendents - my Benjamin(with wife
Fanny GAMES) moves to Fluvanna County, then their children move on to
what becomes West Virginia - Preston County. Three brothers, two cousin
and one sister finially moves to western South Dakota in 1890's. And so
here I am - Mary Clarkson(married to Kevin Buchholz)
I have a marriage certificate from Bryan Co. OK for a John Heaton
CLARKSON and Beulah BRYANT, dated 4-30-1932 that I don't believe belongs
to my family. Looks like both bride and groom are from Dallas, TX. The
witnesses are Nell DITTS and H. A.(?) ZUBER. They also are from Dallas,
TX. Look like anything from your family, let me know.
We are sheep ranchers in western Butte County, hope I can help, MaryinSD

LENOIR CLARKSON 23 Oct 1899 Dec 1969 79549 (Snyder, Scurry, TX) (none
specified) Texas
***********************
Would anyone happen to know who this person is? I think he's probably from
the group from Lamar Co., TX, but don't know for sure.
The LENOIR line is related to me, but the CLARKSONs are, too. I can't
connect this line of CLARKSONs to mine, but they were near where mine were
in TX. My CLARKSON line came into Collin, Hunt, and Red River Cos. very
early, by 1860, it seems. My particular line was in Jefferson Co., TN
before going to TX.
I think that my 4th great grandmother may have been Mary CAMPBELL who
married James CLARKSON, whose mother may have also been a CAMPBELL. They
may have gone to KY after 1850.
My great grandmother wrote that James CLARKSON came to the states with a
brother and settled in KY originally before going to TN. He was in Grainger
Co., TN by 1810, however.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Elaine Blackman
I have tried to respond to the query by Larry Blackman (Elaine?) and the
message bounced back. Peter Lenoir Clarkson, b 1899 in Lamar County, died
1969 in Scurry Co, TX was the son of Francis O'Don Clarkson and May Emma
Lenoir Clarkson. Don Clarkson was my grandfather's brother.
I have a lot of information on this family and the Lenoirs, and will be
glad to share.
