Goodhand and Eleanor (Broadfield) CLARK, from Inch, near
Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland sailed for U.S. in 1852 with
their family; Goodhand died at sea or in NYC after arrival.
Goodhand was son of Goodhand CLARK and Barbara Pattison/
Patterson; Eleanor and children settled in Caneadea, Allegany Co., NY.
Their youngest, Eliza Anne Clark, was born in Ireland 1849 and lived
entire life in Caneadea. Eliza was my greatgrandmother; married Edgar Lewis.
Would like to hear from you regarding YOUR Clark ancestors if
they came from County Cork in or near Dunmanway.

I've "rescued" an old photograph identified only as "CLARKE" which was taken
at the Jones Studio in Providence, Rhode Island. The photograph is of a
young man who appears to be in his 20's at the time the photograph was
taken, likely in the 1870's. The photograph was recovered along with others
belonging to the Brown University Class of 1878 including both students and
faculty.
With that knowledge I was able to locate information regarding Willis
Gaylord CLARKE who was from the Class of 1878 at Brown, so I'm guessing this
is a photograph of Willis. Based on limited research I was able to locate
the following information regarding Willis and his family:
Willis Gaylord CLARKE was b. 28 May 1856 in Detroit, MI to parents John
Currier CLARKE (b. 3 Mar 1822 in Chester (now Auburn), NH) and Cassandra
Perkins EDSON.
He practiced law in Michigan and was likely unmarried.
I am hoping to locate someone from this CLARKE Family so that the photograph
can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you
know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
