Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Clarke Email List Members,
I have had some inquires about how to receive Message Board Posts and so,
will post for all to read, you may need to print this out as there are
several steps to take if you wish to receive an email from the message
board.
You need do nothing to receive an email from the email group - you are
already a list member.
Okay, great so here's what you need to do-(I cannot do for you)
Please keep in mind that an *Email List* is not a Board, it is a group of
folks with a common interest that receive an email each time a member
sends a querry to the List.
Please keep in mind that a *Message Board* is like a bullitin board where
an interest in a particular person or location can be posted it requires
Sign in to Post but not to Read.
1. go to the board, (in this case, CLARKE).
[1]http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.clarke/mb.ashx
2. Sign in, -link is in the upper right hand corner-
--user name and password can be used for ALL RootsWeb/Ancestry boards,
trees, research, & etc.
--If you do not have one, Register & write it down for you will need it to
reply to posts, it is not necessary for read only.
3. On the right side of the page under "Page Tools" and add the Message
Board to your "Alerts" you will then receive an email notifying you that a
posting was made and the subject line. A link to the posting will be
included.
4. Note: adding to favorites does not give you an email notification each
time a message is posted.
Hope this helps,
