I am researching the Forster (became Blake-Forster in the late 19th cent. Henry White Blake Forster m. Mary Anne Clarke, date unknown in England. I am hoping that someone in this group may be a descendant of these people. I have found that Mary Anne was born Abt. 1828. Henry was born Abt. 1832. They had six children, Alfred, Frederick, Francis, William, Sophia and Emily. I have had some luck with deaths in England but nothing with births and places. Any help will be much appriciated. Thanks. Cary Stewart

Through Family Search.org someone found an IGI posting for a Mary Matthews born abt 1797 in Nova Scotia and married Ebenezer Clarke in 1816 in Yarmouth NS.
Does anyone have any more info on this Mary and is this the same Ebenezer Clarke/Clark 1787-1863 whose second wife was Abiah Tedford Flint? And father of Margery, Mary Graham, Maria, Thomas W. and John Griffin Clark?

Message Board Post:
William Oakman was a Revolutionary soldier from Chatham County. Some records show that he had twin sons--William Henry and Henry William--by his wife, Mary Lillibridge. However, in his will dated October 1794, William refers to William Henry and Henry William as the sons of Mary Clarke. He also leaves a part of his estate to Mary Clarke with the instruction that " ... the third belonging to Mary Clarke, is not to be subject to her husband George Clarke's disposal in any manner whatsoever ... " I am a descendant of William Henry Oakman and would like to know if anyone knows anything else about the relationship between Oakman and the Clarkes. It seems pretty obvious that William Sr had sons with Mary, but if there is any more to the story, it would be helpful to know.
Thanks!
Brenda
