I have a book containing Lucy Clarke's Diary covering 1861-1865. It is from "My Scrapbook of Collections and Recollections", by Helen Bingham - copyright 1972.
Book covers various biographical segments of people and events in and around DeKalb Co., IL and contains 37 pages of the diary of this 19 yr. old girl. I would like to get this book to someone who will treasure it. 392 page hardcover book, in excellent condition. Please email me at margerice(a)prodigy.net.

My greatgrandmother was called Hilda Clarke and she was born abt.1900 in May in Coggeshall, Essex, England and died on the 11th May 1982. Her parents were Harriet and Henry Clarke (knwon as Harry) and she had 6 other siblings; Mary, Frederick, George, Percy, Elsie and William. As far as I am aware, George, Frederick and Percy were killed at war.
She married Geoffrey Chalk and had 5 children; Ruth, Mimi, Geoffrey, Ada and Ann. Ada died when she was a baby.
Does anyone else have any matches to these?
Natalie

Hi,
I have reached a dead end searching for the parents of William Jasper Clark, from Clay County, Alabama. One name I have researched in vain is J. T. Clark, who was supposed to have left Clay County during the Civil War. He moved to Jefferson County. Do you suppose this could be some kin to the Clark in your message? Thanks for any help.
Elizabeth
