Elizabeth Crowley & Thomas I. Clark were my grandparents. She was the daughter of John Crowley and Mary Kearney/Kearnin. Grandaughter of James Kearney/Kearnin and Mary Lee.
I believe the connection is that Mary Mame Murray married Edward T. Kearney, brother of Mary Kearney Crowley.
Let me know if this fits into your family tree.

I'm trying to trace my long lost uncle Patrick, Pat, Paddy Clarke. He was originally in the Swedish Navy and used to dock at Liverpool. He married an English girl called Grace, have photo, looks like registry office in nov/dec/jan about 1951. They had 2 little girls, my mother remembers one of them called Ingrid Clarke. They came to Dublin and lived for approx. 1 yr and left in 1959. They turned up around March 1962 at the home of Patrick's brother in Hampshire, with 4 or 6 kids. They were saying goodbye as Paddy had gotten job as Irrigation Consultant for some company in Zambia and they were getting the boat from Portsmouth. None of the family ever heard from them since. Does anyone know of the whereabouts of this family? We would love to know what happened to this family. Maybe they went from Zambia to South Africa, Australia or New Zealand?

Hello,
I am not sure if you ever got your answer but I will give it a shot.
Most marriages use to take place in the wifes home town so that would make it Nottinghamshire. In 1868 there is a Joseph Clarke who got married in District of Radford, Nottinghamshire. On that same page as him is a Mary Merrin. Record . Joseph Clarke 1868 Quarter of Apr-May-Jun District of Radford, County: Nottinghamshire, Vol. 7b page 266. You could order this cert. and it would list his wife and other details.
So I went to the 1861 English Census and found a Mary Merrin who was born about 1850 in Nottinghamshire, England. Parents werelisted as William Merrin age 56 and Moria Merrin age 40. (However, I went and looked at the actual census sheet and it almost impossible to see the real age of William as there is a mark through the age.)
If the Mary Merrin in the 1861 census was the same woman than she would disappear in the 1871 Census. She is gone in the 1871 Census.
Hope this helps.
Linda

Hi there
I read your message and i was just wondering if this might be the same William Clarke that im interested in.
I will tell you the stroy i know.
Williams's Parents are John and Lizzee (maybe aka Elizabeth) Clarke they both came from County Clare in Ireland. Im not sure if later in life they moved to England it is unknown.
John and Lizzee sailed a ship with their 5 childhren including William, on the way John and Lizzee died.
The 5 kids were taken to a Orphange in Napier.
A business man from Samoa (unknown) came to New Zealand and took William and his Brother back to Samoa im not sure where in Samoa.
Later in life William married Sose Stowers local Samoan girl from Leauvaa. They had one daughter name Lulia Clarke.
Lulia Clarke met and Married a Man named Pepe Finai. They both had 5 both boys, Meafou, Villiamu, Faasoa, Ualesi, Faalaga.
The confusing bit is the fact that they all went by their Grandfathers surname Clarke and not their Fathers Finai, This has never been explained.
Now your wondering where do i come in all this? My Grandfather is Faalaga Clarke.
Some of my cousins have added Pepe Finai to their surname but they choose to us Finaipepe i dont know why.
Well i hope this may help you in anyway.

Seeking information on Abraham CLARKE (CLARK) and his son, also Abraham.
Abraham snr was born abt 1796 in Staffordshire, possibly Ashley, and was - I suspect - landlord of the Black Boy pub in Cobridge.
White's 1834 Gazetteer & Directory of Staffordshire lists Abm CLARK as landlord of the Black Boy, and the 1841 census records Abraham CLARKE as a publican, living on Cobridge Lane.
White's 1834 Gazetteer also lists CLARK, Abraham as the Cobridge Blacksmith - and the Pigot & Co 1828/29 Directory of Staffordshire lists a CLARKE, Abraham as the Cobridge Blacksmith.
Abraham jnr was born abt 1825 (possibly baptised in Burslem 22 Oct 1825) and also has census references to his occupation as a Blacksmith (though not always).
Any information or hints as to where I may be able to uncover more information would be very welcome. Thank you.

OK, now that I know that William Hendrick is my connection to Daniel H Hendricks and up the line to James Hendricks of Crane Creek, I need to get more information on Polly Clark who married William Hendricks. I have very few facts to go on, but everything I know that might be a clue or might help in this search is included here. Sadly, it isn't much.

William Hendrick married Polly Clark 23 Jan 1817 in Barren County. a surety to the marriage bond is John Clark, for William Clark. Person who wrote out marriage bond spelled it "Clarke", but John Clark's signature is clearly "Clark", without the "e". I believe William Clark is Polly's father and that John Clark is Polly's brother. I do not know if either of the John Clarks in the 1810/1830 census is the John that was surety on the marriage bond. Note. the web listing of the marriages incorrectly lists her as "Polly Clarke", but the marriage bond itself clearly shows the last name to be "Clark", without the "e".

Clarke, William 233a Skegg's Crk $0.78
Note: This was really "Skagg's Creek" which is found misspelled quite often on documents of that day and two different ways in this particular document. Skagg's Creek is where the land was that Daniel H owned and sold to his son William.
1820 Census, Barren County, KY

No Hendrick/Hendricks/Hendrix
John Clack (Note, this is Clack, not Clark)
Benjamin Clark
Benjamin W Clark (was in 1810)
Everard Clark (probably same as in 1810 "Everet")
Jacob Clark (was in 1810)
James Clark
John Clark
Joseph Clark
Reuben Clark (probably same as in 1810 "Ruben")
William buys land 104.5 acres, from Daniel H, his father in 1817.
Hezekiah Hendrick, son of my William born abt 1818 in Kentucky.
William sells land in Dec.1819. Wife's name is "Polly" in these documents. This is the last time I see the wife of William referred to as Polly"
William Henry Hendrick, 2nd son of my William born 15 Oct 1819 in Kentucky
William moves to Logan County before land sale.
In lawsuit against heirs of Daniel, William is said not to be in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Oct. 1822.
James Daniel Hendrick, third son of my William, born Mississippi, 1824. (probably Marion County, MS)
Mary H Hendrick shows in the 1850 Copiah County, Mississippi census and the 1860 Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana census. She shows to be born in Virginia in both censuses.
**************************************
I have no information that there was any contact between my William or his wife "Mary" with their parents/siblings in Kentucky, except that a grandson of theirs, William Howard Hendrick, after being shot through the leg during the battle of Shiloh, and captured and released, went to "stay with relatives in Bowling Green" until the leg healed enough for him to travel. Obviously, he knew he had relatives in Bowling Green and he was able to stay there for a few months before coming home.
There is one other possible contact between the Mississippi/Louisiana (All of William & Mary's sons moved to Natchitoches Parish, LA) bunch and the parents/siblings in southern Kentucky. Two of the sons travelled from Louisiana to Kentucky to settle an estate in Kentucky. Whether it was a Hendricks estate or a Clark estate or something else, I don't know. And exactly where in Kentucky, I don't know, but the obvious place is the Barren/Warren/Simpson/Logan county areas. This estate settlement was during the Civil War years, if I remember correctly. It would have to be after William or Mary had died. The four sons met and decided who was going and gave power of attorney to the two that went to represent the two that didn't go. Mary died in 1861, William died the year before, April 1860. William Henry died in May 1865 and he was at the meeting of the four sons, so it was between late 1861 and May 1865.
So, what am I looking to prove? Ultimately, I need to prove that Polly Clark is the same person I know as Mary H Hendrick and that she is the mother of Hezekiah, William Henry, James Daniel, and Marion H Hendrick. I need to prove that William Clark is the father of Polly Clark. And that John Clark is Polly's brother. Then I need to find out what happened to William and John.
If I can get all this back to Adam and Eve Hendricks, I would be ecstatic, but I'll take what I can get.
Any help would be appreciated. I know my great great great grandfather, William Hendrick married Polly Clark. What I don't know is that the Mary H Hendrick that shows up as his wife in Mississippi is that same woman. The possibility that Polly Clark died for some unknown reason and William remarried has to at least be considered, although, there is absolutely no hint that it heppened. I believe Polly and Mary are the same person. . I know that the name Polly was used for "Mary" and Mary used for "Polly", but that doesn't mean that's what happened in this instance. I need to know how my Polly Clark relates with other Clarks. I have much data on the descendants of William and Mary/Polly and am most willing to share.
Rod

>From the Monday April 1, 1912 issue of The Springfield (Ohio) Daily News page 9,
"CLARK - The body of Mrs. N. Clark, who died in Dayton, and who was a sister of Mrs. C. L. Reese, will arrive here at 8:17 o'clock Monday night over the Big Four and will be taken to the residence of Mr. Reese, 1840 South Limestone street. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Reese home and burial will be at Fernclliff cemetery."
Hester was born 30 Nov 1863 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio to Reuben W. and Rachel J. (McClelland) Leffel. Her husband N. Clark was actually Norman A. Clarke, born 30 Mar 1862 in Washington County Maryland.
Mrs. C. L. Reese was Ada nee Leffel, Hester's older sister. Per the 1910 Springfield Ohio city directory, C L Reese's wife was called Addie.
I am interested in connecting with anyone researching this Clarke line.
Just another limb,
Laura
