Hello,
For several reasons, I haven't done any research in 6 months, but did a
look-up for someone this morning. When I looked in my "History of
Cambridge," * I accidentally came across a secton on CLARK.
There are almost 2 pages, so I will just offer the first paragraphy:
"Dr. A. P. Clarke
Clarke, Dr. AugustusP., who was one of the leading physicians of the
University City, was born in Pawtucket, R.I., September 24, 1833, being the
son of Seth Darling and Fanny (Peck) Clarke, both lineal descendants of the
earlies Puritans who were among the most influential settlers of Plymouth,
Boston, Dorchester, Hingham, Roxbury, Denham and Mendon in Massachusetts,
and Providence, Newport, Portsmouth and Warchick, in Rhode Island. He
was father of the eighth generation in descent from Joseph Clarke, who with,
who with his wife, Alice, came with the settlers comprising the first
Dorchester company, that embarked at Plymouth, England, March 20, 1630, in
the ship, Mary and John. He was the ancestor of the late eminent
Professor, Edward H. Clarke of the Harvard Medical School. .........."
There is also a section on:
"Edward E. Clark
Clark, Edward E., was born in Cambridge, Mass., November 4, 1870. He was
the son of Martin, V. B., and Sarah M. (Rollins) Clark, both native of New
Hampshire. ........."
That's all I can offer today. I hope this helps someone.
Betty (near Lowell, MA)

There are 2 other "histories" that I know of, the one which is better is
the one by Paige - so I'm told.

Hi Shirley. Sorry.........That would be Pulaski County, Kentucky. I believe they moved there from Virginia. The elder Thomas Stewart CLARK who was married to Drucilla EARP went on to Vigo County, Indiana. Thomas Stewart CLARK Jr. stayed in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

Hi. I am new to the list. I went through the archives and found some references to this line. Nothing from this year. I was wondering if anyone had found anything new since the last posting. I am interested in this Thomas CLARK line:
Thomas Stewart CLARK b.ca.1784, married Drucilla EARP
their son Thomas S. CLARK b.ca.1811 married Pernetty PHELPS
their daughter Mary Ellen CLARK b.ca.1850 married James H. PHELPS
I am searching for the ancestors of the first Thomas and also curious to know if anyone has found the son Thomas in the 1850 census. I have read a previous post regarding the 1850 census and the Thomas CLARK and Ward CLARK found in Pulaski Co. in that census. Thomas S. CLARK Jr. and his wife Nettie/Pernetty and their family are not found in Pulaski Co. in 1850. I have searched and not found them anywhere. The elder Thomas and his wife Drucilla are found Vigo Co., Indiana in 1850. In 1850 Thomas and Pernetty should have the following children:
John A. CLARK age 9
Jemima " age 6
Lavina/Margaret age 4
Catharine/Mary age 2
Mary Ellen " age 6(based on the 1860 census information)
The family is found in Pulaski Co. in 1860.
Thanks for your input,
Margaret
Hello
Can anyone help identify the beneficiaries in the will for Anna A. Clark I have listed below???
I do know that Anna has a daughter with the married name of Margaret Hall. Margaret Hall has a son named William Hall Jr. Both persons appear to be named in the will. I am hoping that someone might be able to positively confirm me if the other persons are children, grandchildren or other family members. I also know that she was married to a William Clark who had died many many years before the will had been filed.
Also if anyone has any information pertaining to the ancestors of Anna A. Clark (maiden name unknown) and her husband William Clark I would appreciate hearing from you as well.

There is a family bible on eBay, belonging to Lucy Clarke Ware and Joseph Allen, which may be of interest to other families, as well. Both Allens and Wares are related to Metcalf's, Fairbanks and Clarkes, and the bible contains some good info on children, marriages, etc.
Don't have the item number, but if you search for Allen Family Bible, it's the only one listed.

A Huge thanks for all of your replies. I am from the UK and should have made this clear in my original post. It would appear that Ancestry.co.uk only list marriages upto about 1911, then there is a big gap to modern day. Many thanks again for your assistance, but it seems I shall have to wait a few years until things catch up over here!
