Hello,
Looking for info on my ggg grandfather William CLARK(E), don't know his birth or death details.
I do know that he had a union with Sarah WEAVER nee EASTON or EASTER and that they had 1 child (that I know of) Anne Maria WEAVER aka CLARK(E) b.1837? NSW? I think, as she was christened 1837, Church of England, New South Wales, Australia. Anne Maria married 1855 NSW to my gg grandfather John GOODALL.
I doubt that William CLARK(E)'S union to Sarah was a marriage, as when she married later in 1839 NSW to Charles BUTLER, her name was WEAVER and she was a widow. The WEAVER being her first union to an Unknown WEAVER who fathered Sarah's 1st born Mary Ann WEAVER b.c.1829.
Would anyone have a William CLARK(E) in New South Wales, Australia in the 1830s that might fit into this picture? Which is probably as clear as mud, LOL
TIA
Glenda Goodall

I have been searching for my Clark ancestors in western PA for years and I have just determined that in the early 1800's Robinson Township in Washington Co. and Robinson Township in Allegheny Co. shared a border. This helped me in my search and perhaps it does yours. Also Robinson is sometimes called "Robeson" and this could also make a difference in your search. Has anyone else any knowledge of those changing county borders? Cornelia Clark Browne

I'm trying to find out more about my great-grandfather, Robert Elliott Clarke, born about 1855 in New York. He married my great-grandmother, Eugenia Ash, in Chicago in 1886. These details come from their marriage license and are absolutely all I know about him. (Only the middle initial "E" is given but as my grandfather and father were both named Robert Elliott, I think this is a safe bet.) He vanishes sometime after 1891 -- either he died, or she divorced him, before 1898. Any clues? Last name may also have been spelled without the final e.
Does anyone have any information on the COURTNEY CLARK who was living in Johnson County, Iowa, in May 1853? I really need information on this family. Thanks.

Hello Fred,
Would you share a bit more information on James Clarke's Family, ancestors
to include your 2nd grt grandfather, siblings, descendants, names, dates,
places if known? Did any of them migrate from PEI, Can to Ontario, Can and
back to MA/ RI or other New England States? Is there possibly an
Alexander CLARK , bc: 1844 Scotland, & wife Mary BOYD associated with your
Family? I believe that they emigrated from Scotland, about 1870 to Ontario,
Canada; and further emigrated from Ontario, Can to MA. and some BOYD Family
members to Lincoln, Providence Co. RI. about 1879 and some probably 1876.
I have not found out much about any ancestors of "Alexander CLARK (E). "
However, I do know of 3 of their children: Mary CLARK, William Alexander
CLARK, and John CLARK...There were probably others in the family. I do have
more information on several of the BOYD members and their families in RI
and CT. Thank you for your inquiry and further reply.

Hi Folks,
I'm starting a search for one of my gg-grandfather's
brothers, who we know very little about. James
Clarke was born in Uggeshall, Suffolk, England, in
1818. He traveled with his family to Prince Edward
Island, Canada, around 1829. Judging from some old
notes a relative has, it is thought James went to
Maine when he was of age, but nothing else is known
of him other than that. I was wondering if there are
any Clark(e) researchers out there who have this lad
in their lines before I begin the search in earnest.

Hello John
Ok shere is what I have found for you:
In 1859 there is a Arthur Clarke who got married in Shoreditch. Now in those days the mariage usually took place in the wifes home county. You said that was Shoreditch. So this is what I found:
Name: Arthur Clarke
Year of Registration: 1859
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Shoreditch
County: London
Volume: 1c
Page: 426
On that page are 3 woman one of them being a Sarah Jane Flight.
SO I went and looked up that name in the 1851 Eng census to see if I could find her and see what her place of birth and dob was and this is what I found:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Sarah Flight
Age: 10
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1841
Relation: Daughter
Father's name: John H
Mother's name: Sarah
Gender: Female
Where born: Shoreditch, Middlesex, England
Civil Parish: Shoreditch
Ecclesiastical parish: Hoxton St John
County/Island: Middlesex
Country: England
Registration district: Shoreditch
Sub-registration district: Hoxton New Town
ED, institution, or vessel: 25
Neighbors: View others on page
Household schedule number: 319
Household Members: Name Age
Amelia Flight 2
Eliza Flight 3 Mo
John H Flight 31
Joseph Flight 4
Sarah Flight 30
Sarah Flight 10
Source HO107 Piece 1535 Folio 614 page 4.
I next went to see if I could find this Sarah Flight on the 1861 census and she is no longer there or anywhere. Which gives further proof that since the first Sarah Flight got married 1859 and this Sarah Flight disappears that they may be the same one.
You would have to order the marriage cert to be sure.
Hope it is the right one, Linda
Hello,
Just offering an FYI that someone on the Washington Co., Maine, List has
been posting information on CLARK families in early Eastport, ME. (Would
include Lubec, ME, area.)
I was interested in the family of Jacob and Lydia CLARK, mentioned because
one of their children was a James CLARK, b1804. He is a "possible" for
my brick-wall, James CLARK, found in Rhode Island after 1824, and marrying
in nearby Westport, MA, in 1829.
