Recently I researched Nun Clark in Darlington, SC trying to tie him with another CLARK family. Nun died abt. July 1790 and left land on High Hill Creek, Darlington District, SC to four daughters. No mention of a wife or son. His daughters were Elizabeth who m. John Turner, Sabra who m. John Gardner, Sarah who m. Robert Taylor and Mary who MAY have married Rasha Cannon. The reason I say MAY have married is that I have no proof of a marriage for Mary. She did deed Rasha Cannon her land. Anyone know more about this Nun CLARK? Sandy
I am seeking information on the Elizabeth Clark , widow of Levi LITTEL
who married on 25 July 1807, Mathew Long in SUSSEX CO. NJ. Any scrap or
tiny lead will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gretchen
Here's what I have on this family in my data base... Anybody have any
more info? Corrections or additions? Parents for Thomas? Perhaps I have
them in my data base...

Hello,
I apologize to anyone receiving a double posting as I am posting to two
lists.
I am looking for ancestral information on my Great Great Grandmother
Emma Clark and who I believe to be her father Charles H. Clark.
* Emma is found in Williams Township, Sangamon County, Illinois. b.
Feb 1883, in the 1900 Census.
* She is living with her father Charles H. Clark, who is a widow. b.
Jul 1848,Kentucky
o His parents are also both born in Kentucky.
* Her mother, is deceased, however, she is listed as being born in
Illinois, on all of the children's records.
* Children of Charles H. Clark listed on 1900 census:

+ Fred, born December 1889, 10
+ Joseph, born October 1891, 8

Illinois. Her father was born in North Carolina and her mother
Kentucky. The children are listed as: <>
Mary, 6

Hello,
Just like to repost my interest in seeing if there is anyone who has
information on the CLARK / E families which lived in or around Little
Compton, RI, in the mid-1700's !
I continue to look for any information at all about a James CLARK/E who was
probably born in the 1790 to 1800 timeframe.
The only thing I know about him is that, when he moved to Westport, MA, to
marry the widow, Mrs. Rhoda (MANCHESTER) LAVARE, in 1829, he said he had
come there from Little Compton, RI.*
I recently received an e-mail saying that there were CLARK families in
Little Compton in the 1700's - according to some "wills" from the time
period.
Rhoda had 3 children from her LAVARE marriage, and then James and Rhoda had
a daughter in Westport in 1836. I would like to find out if your Mary
Anna CLARK had -- CLARK relatives along the RI / MA border !
And, I have no idea whether James CLARK had been married before he met Mrs.
Rhoda LAVARE, so I'd like to know if Mary "Molly" CLARK had any CLARK
half-siblings.
Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)
*For those not in the area, Westport, MA, and Little Compton, RI, are
neighboring towns.
FYI:
During the 1840's, James CLARK "left" his family; I haven't heard of him
dying then, but he wasn't in the 1850 census with his wife and family.
He might have been the James CLARK who got on a ship in New Bedford as a
"greenhand" - ship was heading out for a 4-year voyage, and this James
"deserted" in Australia.
Mary "Molly" CLARK married John DEXTER, b1833 in Killingly, CT. They
might have married in Stonington, CT, around 1855. They lived most of
their married life in Killingly, CT. I have no idea how they met. I
have no idea whether "Molly" had any CLARK relatives in CT.
Hi...
Here's what I have on that family in my data base. I have more on the
Clark descendants if interested..

Hello,
I am looking for family info on two sets of Clark(e)s that are
both linked to the Simon Huntington family tree (England -> CT
1600's).
1. Sarah Clarke, daughter of John Clarke, was born about 1633 of
Saybrook. She married Simon Huntington (b 1629 England, d 1706 CT)
in October 1653. They had a son James, born May 18, 1680 in Norwich,
CT.
2. Elizabeth Clark, born 1564 in Norwich, England. She married
Christopher Barrett / Baret (b 1562 England, d 1649 England). Their
daughter, Margaret Barrett / Baret (b 1595 England, d 1649 CT or 1661
Atlantic Ocean) had married June 21, 1627 or May 11, 1623 in St
Andrews, Norwich, England to Simon Huntington (b 1583). This Simon
was the father of the Simon in #1 above.
Thank you,
Zoe
Hi Barb,
THANKS :) for your reply. Do you see a connection between our WILSON
families? Seeking mother's name of Mary WILSON [b. 1834 Walesville,

father was Robert WILSON born abt. 1810 of England [see 1850 and 1880

Mary WILSON is the second wife of Ransom D COOK [1828-1896], whose
children were born between 1852-1875: Maryette [Nettie], Charles R.,

Hi Joe,
THANKS :) for your reply. I will check out the 1880 census and ask
another researcher to look up the 1900 census since I don't have a paid
subscription like you suggested.
The only child of Judson I know of was
Bertha CLARKE. I found out that Judson CLARKE m. 19 Jan. 1876 in
Mohawk, Herkimer, NY, to Mary F. [Mae] COOK [1852-1882]. Bertha, their
daughter, died in 1928 in Mohawk, Herkimer, NY.
THANKS AGAIN for checking your mega database,
Jan Jordan <jnrose(a)webtv.net>
Hi Jan
Judson is an uncommon name. I only have 4 out of 26,000 Clarks in my data
base, but they are all at least one generation earlier than your Judson..
Do you have the names of your Judson's children? Perhaps I can find some
similar names and get get a clue..

Hi,
Thanks for the additional info. Do you know where your MARY WILSON was
from and who her Parents were? I have a BOYD / RELATED CLARK & ADAMS
FAMILY IN RI whose daughter Janet ADAMS may have been associated with a
WILSON FAMILY. I am just working on data from research in Oct 05.
Interestingly, I also worked with a MARY WILSON in the late 1960/early 70s
who I believed was from North Adams, MA. area. I do not know where she is
at this time. Good luck, should we connect further. I was born and raised
in CT. D/O: Wm. Albert CLARK & Helen L. DUHAIME. Wm was born & raised
mostly in MA. & Helen in Waterbury, & Milford, CT.

Hello everyone,
Wanted to mention a few websites I have:
Old Virginia Obituaries, 1790-1940:
http://virginiaobits.homestead.com/
and
Miscellaneous Virginia Genealogy:
http://vagenealogy.homestead.com
These are two sites with alot of free online information I have found and transcribed and posted. Hopefully you can find family.
I do my researching at the Library of Va. where there is alot of good records and old newspapers.
May God bless,
Beth

Hi Jan,
I would be interested in having a little more of your data on Subject
person. My Grandfather, William Alexander Clark, was born: Feb 1877, in
Merritton, Ontario, Canada. However, I have not found his Birth certificate
or register. His Parents were: Alexander Clark and Mary Boyd. Known
siblings: Mary, b: 10 Oct 1872, Grantham, Lincoln co. Ontario, Canada; and
younger Brother: John Clark, bca: 1878/1879 Canada. Parents were Scots.
Second item: Recently while researching in Moshassuck Cem. in Central
Falls, RI., I saw a Grave for : a "BERTHA M. ?(unk) , years 1883 - 1962.
Listed as wife of: Harry CLARKSON: 1880 - 1938.
A number of other "CLARKs / CLARKEs " and "BOYDs" and associated names in
Moshassuck Cem as well. Good luck.
Barb

Hi Jan,
I don't have a Bertha, sorry. However. I am curious if you
know her father &/or mother's names & where the family originates?
(Other than Oneide Co., NY)
Does Bertha have a married name?
Thanks,
Sue, researching Clarks from the Hon. Daniel Clark, Hartford Co., CT., >
New London Co., CT, > Windham Co., VT, & > Franklin Co., MA
