Looking for any info on Polly Allen, b:1-4-1787 in Conn, d:12-1-1863. It has been generally considered that she was in the family line of the noted Ethan Allen of CT & Vermont.
Polly married Geroge W. Irish, she died in Lewiston, Niagara Co, NY. She is said to be the daughter of Justus Allen, a Rev. Soldier.
Anyone have any information about these "Allens"? I would appreciate anything you might have.
This all from the book "Decendants of John Irish".

Hello everyone,
Perhaps someone is related to this man, born about 1836,
probably in the UK. I believe his father was William.
I'm hoping that someone can help me with anything about the
above man who in the Army in India, and then a Sgt. Railway Police in India.
Over the years, I've been able to find his children , and even g/children.
But George's birth place and whereabouts after 1890 are proving difficult
for me to trace. Here is what I have found,
***** This is the info I have about my George CLARKE.
N/1/102 f82
George Clarke, 26, bach., Sgt 2/24 RA. father:William.
Jane Ellen Small, 14, spinst., f: Joseph.
Married 29.1.62, Saugor.
His children and George's occupation at the time of their birth.
**Mary Jane, bap 10-11- 1864, Saugor. He was a Sergt. in R.A.
**Henrietta Charlotte, bap. 24th June, 1867, Woolwich, Kent. George was
still with the R.A.
**Frederick William bap.13-5-1875, Meerut, George still with the R.A.
**Matilda Margaret, bap 26-7-1877, Assensole. George is now a Sergt. of
Govt. Railway Police.
**James Henry, bap 1-9-1880, Allensole. George remains with the Govt.
Railway Police until 1890, when the trail stops dead,
**isabella May, bap.25-9-1881, Assensole
**Violet Annie, bap. Oct 1883, Howrah
**Maria Jane, bap. 2-2-1886. Howrah
**John Percy, bap. 25-7-1890, Dinapore.
The trail stops there so far for me, and I would be very grateful if someone
has access to records and could give a glance over them for me please, and
perhaps offer some suggestions for tracing this man.
I have the marriage cert. of his son, Frederick William CLARKE in
Sept. 1902, at St. Thomas' Church, Middleton Row, and it doesn't say that
his father is deceased? Fred married Constance Mary ?Spain (looks like that
name). He was a Shunter? E.I Ry. at Howrah, left the wife and children and
came to Aus and enlisted in the army here.He died of TB in 1919.
I'd love to hear from anyone with connections to this family, and
side branches; DANNISON/ DENNISON, SMALL, SPAIN,GLOVER, all in India in the
1800's.
I'm sorry to be so long winded,
Many thanks and
,-._|\ best wishes,

I will be in Lebanon Tues. this week researching my William CLARK

relation to Daniel CLARK, b. 31 Dec 1704 in Windsor, Hartford, CT)
I don't have an Amos in my line, but, if you need a lookup I'd be
willing to do one up for you. If you have an idea who his
father may be just let me know.
FYI- the book, THE CLARK GENEALOGY compiled by Emma Lee Walton,

Have you found William and his father Daniel on earlier census (1870,
1860, 1850) in either MD or VA? That may give some clues to other Clarks
who are relatives..
If you can get back to a Clark ancestor born before 1800, I may have them
in my data base...

I don't think I can help with your William from RI, but he may be connected
to our line. Looking at the lineage, we have a John (b. abt. 1480),
John (b. abt. 1509, Westhorpe, Suffolk, England),
John (b. 11 Feb 1540, Westhorpe, Suffolk, England),
Thomas (b. 1 Nov 1570, Westhorpe, Suffolk, England),
Joseph (b. 8 Dec 1618, Westhorpe, Suffolk, England),
Carew (b. 1658, Newport, RI) (m. Annie DYER, daughter of Anne Hutchinson
and granddaughter of Mary Barrett Dyer, both notable ancestors),
William (b. 15 Jan 1707, Newport, RI),
but I'm descended from William's brother Caleb (b. 22 May 1703, Newport,
RI). This William "Resided East Greenwich, RI" per my notes, and married
Ann GREENE 8 Nov 1730, but I have nothing on their children.
Going back a couple of generations, Joseph's sister Mary (b. 17 or 26 Jul
1607) also married a Peckham, John (b. abt. 1600 is all we have on him).
Eep, gotta go, but hope this helps :-).

Hi to all
especially Elizabeth Clarke
Warwick, RI
Just in case these might be some of your ancestors.............I'm
interested in a Clarke/Clark individual who moved from RI to Canada aprx
1783 -- I'm intersted in knowing what became of his wife and if she was
alive and moved to Canada with him :
William Clarke/Clark (William, Carew, Joseph, Thomas, John, John) born
Jan 18/1736/37 in North Kingston, Washington Co, RI and died April 08/1804
in Carleton, West Saint John, N.B. Canada.
He married Ruth Peckham (Daughter of John Peckham & Deborah Sweet)
November 24th, 1765 in Westerly, Washington Co., RI.. She was born March
18th, 1742/43 in Westerly, Washington Co., RI.
They had 7 children born in Rhode Island, the last being Mary b. 1778
(according to RI Census) and then probably due to the turmoil going on in
the thirteen colonies ...........the records become scarce. My ancestor,
Samuel was supposedly born to them in 1778/1780 somewhere ?? - Samuel died
in 1818 in Portland (Saint John) N.B. Canada...........but little is known
of him or his mother Ruth Peckham - I'm just wondering if anyone can help
with this mystery.
Thanks, Kate.
Hello, Gwen,
I didn't find any Methodist churches at Broome, but there are quite a few at
Vestal. You can find a list at
Vestal, New York
Good luck to you.
Cheers
Elizabeth Clarke
Warwick, RI
I am looking for information regarding old church records in the Vestal, Broome Co, NY area. They are both Methodist churches, one in Vestal and another near Tracey Creek. If it is possible, could someone give me the name/address/phone number for each of them? I would appreciate the help.
Thank you,
Gwen
Can anyone help me look for the 1845 NY state census records for Broome & Tioga counties?
Can anyone do a look-up for me or point me in the right direction?
Thank you,
Gwen
