Hello All,
Does anyone know if there are any participating Clarks from the Northern Routes? My Ancestors emigrated into Connecticut, went into Orange County New York & bordering New Jersey, then went into Central New York in the Cayuga, Tompkins, Tioga, Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties area. I want to participate in the study, but, first I need to know if there are any Clarks from these areas to compare to? My 4th great grandfather was Elias Clark (1755-1845). Thanks
Dennis Clark

Hi all,
This is a real problem, trying to get the DNA from any one surname. If some
of you have the time, and perhaps money, you must figure out where to test
(that is, what group to test), and find a member of the set you are interested in
and convince him to permit a test.
If you have female lines you might try to go that route in some cases. Your
mothers, mothers, mothers line, etc.....which might provide some help.
I have a Clarke from Anson County, NC. I "think" he was John Clarke in old
Anson Co., NC.
My mothers, mother was a Wright, and her father was William Clarke Wright,
from Biscoe, NC. However the Clarke name comes down a Wallace line, out of old
Anson Co.
I know the Clarkes in old Anson came in from Louisa County, Virginia. I found
documentation of that lineage into Louisa County. They were related to a
Bolling Clarke of that area. An odd name, which some here might have seen. Perhaps
those odd names might help, if everyone will publish the earliest one of an
odd name they have way way back. Micajah Clarke was another.

Hi, I am looking for any family of Maria Matilda Challenger who married
William CLARKE in 1840. I am not certain where they married but I think it
would have been in the Gloucester/Somerset area. Many thanks. Helen in NZ
Shirely, I find your Joseph and Nancy Clark interesting. They are born
about the time to have been parents of my John Clark b. 1768. Of interest,
John named his first daughter Nancy. John's sister Hester who married
Thomas Lindsey also named her first daughter Nancy. About the only way I
know to see if there is a connection is by using DNA. Do you have any
direct line male CLARK descendants who could participate in the CLARK DNA
study? Even if you don't find a match with our line you might find another
connection. Sandy

Curtis Edward Clark was a half brother to my mother, born in Missouri
and spent his early life in Oklahoma. The family has had no contact with
him or any of his descendants (if any) since 1924.
One online family tree shows Curtis E. Clark, born March 2, 1912; died
January, 1980; last known residence Chesterton, Indiana, 46304 as our
Curtis Edward Clark. Can someone in Porter County provide a transcript or
copy of his obituary so that we can either validate or eliminate this
"lead" from our search to find him? I anticipate that the source will be
the Chesterton Tribune. Postage and copy costs will be gladly reimbursed.
I have complete indexes and files of obituaries published in Maries and
Osage Counties in Missouri from 1991 until today if someone has a need. I
will send them electronically at no cost.

According to family records, my great grandmother Eliza Annie CLARKE was born 24/5/1859 at the Three Pots, Burbage. Leicestershire. Parents Susanna and John Clarke. The PRO have not been able to find any record of her birth.
My grandfather was Charles Trickett, born Coventry, Warwickshire. Their first child was born in 1882.
The PRO have not been able to find any record of their marriage.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone who may have a connection to the family.

Has anyone seen the publication above written by Victor E. Clark? It is available at the North Carolina State Library in Raleigh, NC. I tried to order it through interlibrary loan but it was not available for loan. I'd like to know more about it. If anyone lives in Raleigh and could check it out I would appreciate it. Sandy
Mary Jane is likely dead now as her husband David R. Clark ( born
Sewickley,PA) of Rochester MI died in 1969 @ age 79. His ashes were sent

BARKWILL plot/section of that cemetery also. Any way to check? Get her
obit to find related daughters? These two girls are my only connection
