Jesse,
Because there are so many Jesse Clark(e)s in my husband's line, I just had to jump in and check to see if there was a possibility of a connection. I found William Sr. in the 1920 Miner Co, SD, census. The information is wonderfully detailed, down to the year the family immigrated from England to this country and the year they were naturalized. It appears Earl was the only one listed in the household who was born in this country (Illinois). I have extracted everything for you below.
Regards,
Fay Clark

Hi!
Need help please! I am trying to find the parents of JAMES CLARK b. abt.
1810, unknown where. He married AMY ENOCH in 1841 Wood Co., VA. They raised
their children in Wood Co.,VA, which later became Wirt Co.,VA (WV) in the Spring
Creek District.Children's names were:
ISAAC CLARK b. 1841 Wood Co.
WILLIAM CLARK b. 1843 Wood Co.
ADOLPHUS P. CLARK b. 1845 Wood Co. (My paternal great grandfather)
ABRAHAM CLARK b. 1847 Wood Co.
ALPHEUS CLARK b. 1854 Wirt Co.
I have lots of info about the ENOCH family but nothing further back on the
CLARK family. ANY help will be greatly appreciated! Betty
So, does anyone know if there's a valid genealogy of General Wesley Clark
online? It might be interesting to see if any of us are related to him, and
more info is always a good thing even if we're not :-).

Hello,
One of my brick walls is a James CLARK, probably born in the 1790's. He
was a Mariner, so he could have been born anywhere.
While looking through information on the LDS web site
www.familysearch.org
I came across a James CLARK who was born ~1798 in Brooklyn, NY. The
record has him marrying Nancy COLE (from New Haven, CT??). The marriage
was in Nov. 1817 in Brooklyn, NY. And, they reportedly had two sons,
William b1818, and James, b1820 (in Brooklyn).
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this family.
The James CLARK I am looking for was in Little Compton, RI, around
1825-1827, and I don't know whether he was single or widowed or divorced at
that time. In 1829 in Westport, MA (on RI border), he married Mrs. Rhoda
(MANCHESTER) LAVARE, the widow of another Mariner. They lived in
Westport, MA, and had a daughter there in 1837.
I believe this James CLARK "went to sea" in 1845, and "deserted" in
Australia. He was not listed in the 1850 Census for Westport, MA, with
his wife and child (and Rhoda's children).
I have reason to believe that his daughter, Mary Anna "Molly" CLARK, had
CLARK relatives around her when she was an adult (and living in CT, and
sometimes MA).
(Mary CLARK married John DEXTER from Killingly, CT. They possibly married
in Stonington, CT, in 1852.)
Thank you for your time.

March Court 1728: In the Action of the case between Christopher Clark
plaintif against James Bolling, defendant, James Bolling indebted unto the plaintiff
for 706 pounds... is ordered to pay plaintiff Christopher Clark. [Source:
Goochland Order Book 1, p. 76, 93]
When the average farm could be purchased for 50L or less, I wonder why
Christopher Clarke was willing to lend James Bolling 706 pounds? James Bolling was
dead less than two years later; his estate was inventoried by Stephen Hughes
and the total value was much less than the amount he owed Christopher Clark.
Additionally, Stephen Hughes' brother, Ashford Hughes, was suing him as well for
non-payment of debt which was forgiven at James' death.
