Ruth,
I have noticed that Christopher Clark had substantial Kentucky Land Grants, and I just found a grant to Boling Clark, who I assume was either Christopher's son or grandson. It is possible that Robert Clark did belong to this family, however I have no way of confirming. The existence of such land grants did not mean that they were actually claimed or that the grantee ever set foot on the property in question. I am thinking this may be the case with Robert, as I can find no connection between him and my Samuel Clark Sr. (son of Thomas Clark b. bef. 1759) or James Clark b. bef. 1765.
Additionally, I have submitted my husband's DNA to the Virginia Clark DNA project, and there is no apparent connection between my husband and Christopher Clark's descendants; his DNA is 3 markers different from descendants of Francis Clark and Cordelia Lankford--1 short of being able to claim a possible relationship there.
We think Thomas Clark was somehow related to the Clarks that settled in Madison Co (present day Garrard Co) KY, as John Clark's widow Eleanor is found listed one year on the Pulaski Co KY tax list with Thomas on Pitman Creek. Eleanor is thought to have been her husband's niece or cousin, and they were from Orange Co, NC. They were also related to the Clarks in Randolph Co NC. Eleanor's sister Catherine Clark and her husband (also a Clark) also settled in Madison County.
As for Thomas, we do not have a clue how he fits in. He first appears on the Pulaski Co 1799 tax list. I have the microfiche for the Madison County tax rolls, but have not been able to get to the library to check them out.

>Fay; I just read your e-mail to the Clarke website and thought I would ask a question about Robert Clarke. Do you think this is the Rbt Clarke that was a son of Micajah and Judith (Adams) Clarke? If so, he was born in 1738 in Albemarle Co. in Virginia. He married Susan or Susannah Henderson in 1764 in Albemarle and died in Clark Co. in KY in 1810. He may have lived in Bourbon Co. first after he moved to KY, I don't know. Are you related to him? I am.

My curiosity is piqued about this entry. I believe this has to be the part of Lincoln (Otter Creek) that became Wayne Co, where my mysterious James Clark turns up and my Samuel eventually settled. It's just accross the Cumberland River from Pitman Creek in what eventually became Pulaski Co. Notice the year is 1784, which would mean Robert had to have been born before 1763. I have found no indication, however, that he ever actually took possession of the land, much less lived on it. Due the size of the acreage and its location, I'm reasonably certain Robert was an officer in the Revolutionary War and a resident of Virginia.

Hi...
Anthony is not a popular name for a Clark(e)...
I have only 10 or so out of 25,000 Clarks in my data base...
The only possibility I have is a listing for a baptism sponsors:
pg 48 Ganvern, Thomas; bn. Sep 9, 1782; bpt. May 4, 1783; sps Anthony
CLARK & Elizabeth CLARK... St Peter RCC rec...
Per; Church Records, St Peter RCC Church, Baltimore, Baltimore Co., MD
Family Tree Maker's Family Archives, CD#178 Church Records: Maryland and
Deleware, 1600s-1800s...
Anthony CLARK & Elizabeth CLARK could be married or related in some other
way, or not at all...
Do you have any more info regarding your Anthony? Siblings, kids, etc...
Perhaps your Anthony would tie in to another in my data base If I had
some more clues...

I am looking for information on the family of Anthony Clark, born in Ireland
about 1759 and died in Lawrence County, Ohio about 1833. I am especially
interested in his son, Anthony ClarkJr., his wife or wives. Peggy Simmons, son of
Joel Simmons, and a lady named Isabelle, last name not know, possibly Smith.
If any of this sounds familiar please contact me.
You might check Goucester Co. , Va.
The sister of Richard Clarke of Amelia Co., Va. married a Richardson and
remained in Gloucester with a brother James (I believe).
BUT, (big but), I would try to find a timeline of events leading backward
from whatever timeframe you have for him. My best guess is that there were
over 10,000 William Clarks in your man's era.
Good Hunting,
Dick Clark, fellow searcher

Hi all
Just joined.
Am looking for any descendants of Anthony and Kate (nee DAVIDGE )CLARKE. He was a Commercial Traveller, selling books for a Book Publisher.
Their children were:
Violet Maud b 1884/5. Swansea, Wales
Ernest Clement b 1886 Cardiff, Wales
Kate Antoinette b 1887 Cardiff, Wales
Frederick William b 1888 Cardiff,Wales, may have married a GREEN in 1919 Edmonton
Edward Bertie b 1890, Cardiff,Wales may have married an ELKS in 1916 in Edmonton
Willy Tony b 1892 Nunhead, Lewisham London (my grandfather) married Ethel (Queenie) HASKINS 1917 Portsmouth Hants (known as Anthony William all his life)Was a sergeant in WW1.
Lawrence(Laurance) Gilbert b 1896 Nunhead, Lon. m Elizabeth DEVEREAUX 1924 Edmonton. Think he was a barman. Believed to have had a daughter Dorothy who supposedly married a De CROIX(or similar spelling) about 1946. (I can't find the entry for a CLARKE/DEVEREAUX birth or the marriage) Am wondering if she was adopted.
Victoria Ellen (Queenie) b 1887, Nunhead, Lon. m Fred'k J. ABBOTT 1915 Hampstead. Supposedly later married a PRIESTLY, and at sometime during WW2 and afterwards, managed the Tottenham Pub on the corner of Oxford St and Tottenham Court Rd. Not sure under what name. Lived in Orient St, Southwark?? at some time.
Vera Doris b 1898 Croydon, Surrey , married a ? SHAW, I think
Lord Oswald b 1900 d 1901 Croydon
Earl Rudolph b 1904 Brockley Lewisham m Rosina Amelia MITCHELL 1928 Edmonton He was a decorator. They had (according to elderly aunt) a Donald and a Derek. I think one of these was actually Earl F.D. CLARKE b Dec Qtr !828 Edmonton. Am getting the certificate.
The family members were known to live in the Muswell Hill, Tottenham, Crouch End area from 1916 onwards. There may be some evidence that they were in the Willesden and/or Westham areas at some time.
I have all the earlier ancestry (4 other 'wives' and a different birth and death-name!) and am trying to track down living relatives, as we had little knowledge of these parents before my cousin and I started this search in earnest 2 years ago.I will post earlier 'marriages' and offspring in a different posting.
Hope this post is not too long, but the more info I put, the more chance I may have of a positive result.
Here's Hoping!!!!
