Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks Joe,
It could very well be the ones that I am looking for.
At least it is a lead to follow up on.
Do you have any more info on them?
Thanks, Cathy

Since I first posted I have learned My grandfather was born in Barry County MO. His father was Elijah Clark, Stone Co. Census 1860 and his mother Lavania Hale, barry Co. MO. Elijah died 1874 and was buried in the Hale Cemetery in Barry Co and moved to a Stone Co. Cemetery in the 1940's. Lavania married Hans Simmons and had more children. One daughter married a Rose in Barry and had 9 children. Maybe this will ring a bell with some one, I hope. I really want to know how many children Lavania had by Elijah besides my grandfather. Anything will help, please. LaDonna Clark Timmerman

Yes, I am researching Clarks from CT. and KY. I have a Jesse E. Clark that
was born in KY. ca. 1843. His parents were Henry and Denisa/Eliza Clark.
They were married in KY. ca. 1840-1842. I do not know anything before Henry
nor what the Mothers' Maiden name was. Jesse had several brothers and two
sisters.
Johnine
I have a joseph m. Nancy McCAMPBELL 20 Jan 1813, Knox Co., TN...
Could this be the one?

I am trying to discover more about my grandfathers ancestry of CLARKE's.
My grandfather was born in Merton, Surrey in 1892. He came to Canada in
1919. His father was George Frederick Edward Clarke alias Harry and I
think that he was born in Ireland. Harry married Mary Elizabeth Daniels
abt 1887.
I have not been able to find anything more on Harry and hope to do so.
If anyone else is searching for this family I would be delighted to
share.
Thanks

Betty, have you checked on the OH GenWeb site for a county that sounds like
Cochocan County, OH. I lived in Columbus, OH for 20 years and don't
recognize that county name. My Clarks were from Harrison County. You might
check Montgomery county site as well. I have found them helpful. My
mother's family was from there. Have you been able to go back further than
John P. Clark? I have a book that has a listing of Scotch-Irish families who
settled in Belmont, Harrison, Jefferson and other counties in OH in early
1800s. In the book, there is a John as son of the James I mentioned. He was
probably b. ca 1820-30 as James was born about 1800.
In the genealogy section, there are three Clarks: James, b. probably VA,
emigrated to PA before coming to OH. But they are probably one or two
generations removed from your John P.
There's probably no relationship if he settled in the county you mentioned.
If you find the county name and it coincides with those the book covers, I'll
see what I can find. It covers mostly the first half of the 19th century.
Good luck,
Marilyn Brown
