Jerry et al:
If you don't know the exact dates of individuals, such as marriage, birth,
death dates, then estimate them. Giving the parents or children's names are
also valuable. Place names are also important. There are many folks out
there who can help each other, but a name or 2 with no corresponding
information is next to impossible to check. Thanks.

We have Hannah Moore born November 4, 1802, probably in Fayette County,
PA. She married Thomas Clark born January 28, 1800 probably in Fayette
County, PA.. They arrived in Madison Township, Perry County in 1836,
with several children. Hannah was a remarkable woman. She made her mark
in Perry County by helping to organize and reorganize Mt. Perry's
Methodist Episcopal church. Thomas was a stone mason and we speculate
that he was helping to build the bridges for the road improvements and
the iron horse. He died in 1854 and Hanna left her older married
children and for some reason went on to buy a farm near Champaign
Illinois. Where she was very successful. She died there after 1877.
Why she left two married children and struck out - apparently on her own
- for a new life in Illinois is a mystery. She is mentioned in Perry
County History books in connection with her church work and one of her
sons relates some of the family history in an 1877 autobiographical
sketch - which someone in Illinois sent me years ago - thanks again.
Any comments from anyone? Hal

Good afternoon. Please pardon the
unsolicited posting, but I recently
acquired the following, which I
thought the Clarke family membership
might like to know about. I offer it
as follows:
[CLARKE/DUNGAN]. Justice, Alfred Rudulph.
Ancestry of Jeremy Clarke of Rhode Island
and Dungan Genealogy. West Edmeston, N.Y.,
Guardian Press, 1922 [reprinted ca. 1980].
4to. Pp. 538. Numerous fullpage plates.
Orig. navy buckram, spine and front panel
printed in gilt. First direct reprinting.
This high-quality reproduction of the 1922
original printing contains the European royal
ancestry as well as the American descendants
of the Clarke and Dungan families. The
plates are well done (they appear to have
better resolution than a photocopy) and it
is quite serviceable. This printing was
limited to 176 copies of which this no. 69.
Scarce in any form. $85.00
I offer this subject to prior sale. If of
interest, please advise. With many thanks
for your courtesy and consideration, I am,
Sincerely,
Christopher Hartman

Hi Arthur... Thanks for the info,
I added them to my data base with your email address as a future point of
contact when others supply info on this line. I assume that the Perry
County you are referring to is the one in Ohio? I like to make doubly
sure so that I don't introduce errors... Let me know if my assumption is
correct...
Also do you have a date & place of marriage for them?
I don't have any Hannah Moore in my data base but lots of possible Thomas
Clarks who could fit as your Thomas, but nothing definite...

Hello! I'm looking for information on Ann CLARK b. 1 Jan 1822 Switzerland
Co., Indiana (or Kentucky?).
I have her father listed as George CLARK of New York.
Ann CLARK (b. 1 Jan 1822 IN/KY; d. 25 Mar 1888 KS; bur. MO) m. Milton
LAUDERBAUGH on 7 Aug 1838 in Switzerland Co., IN.
Milton (b. 7 May 1812 IN/KY; d. 15 Aug 1901 Meridian, Ada Co., ID) is s/o

While researching at http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eiablackh/bag3.htm, I came
across the following
entry for early settlers of Spring Creek Township, Black Hawk Co., Iowa:
3 April 1853
John Clark & family (section 14, range 87)
Simon Clark & wife
Andrew Clark & wife
George Clark & wife and sons Thurman and Joseph (sec. 13)
William Louis
Henry Clark
John Howrey & wife
D. B. Teeter & wife.
(All the above people came with John Clark.)
The wife of Daniel Burger Teeter was Emeline Clark, a daughter of John
Clark and Barbara Markel.
Twelve years later (1865), Joseph Young married Anna Jeannette Clark in
Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., Iowa. Jeannette's parents were a George Clark
and Abigail Unknown (we think).
Can anyone tie Emeline (Clark) Teeter to Anna Jeannette Clark? Can anyone
tie Anna Jeannette Clark to this George Clark in Black Hawk Co.? Can
anyone disprove a relationship between this George and Jeannette Clark?
Does anyone know the name of the wife of George and mother of Thurman and
Joseph Clark?
Hope I have not asked too many questions and gotten anyone confused!

PS I am still searching for a Thomas Clark b before 1750, and his
sisters/daughters Elizabeth Clark b abt 1762 mar Christian Coffman, then
in 1787 William Veach, and Mary Clark who mar. William Shepherd. I think
they were from the Shepherdtown area in VA/WV. Thomas went to KY in 1775
with George Rogers Clark. He was in several land law suits in the early
1800s in Fayette Co KY. I am descended from Elizabeth and William Veach.
Hi,
My name is Cyrus Clarke. I recall you had an inquiry re the Clarke cemetery
in Hopkinton, Rhode Island a while back. I ended up going out to RI from my
home in Santa Barbara and found the cemetery. I don't know if you
are\related to Joseph Clarke/John Clarke, but if you are, get back in touch
and I'll tell you about my trip and what I was able to discover about the
Clarke's.
Sincerely, Cyrus Clarke
