Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I used the address for Betty Soukup that was in the sender's e-mail message.
That address was betty_soupkup(a)legis.state.ia.us. My message was returned
because it was an unknown addressee.
When my message to her was returned, I went into the Iowa government site
maintained by yahoo. The correct spelling of her name has only one "p" in
it. The correct e-mail address to send Betty Soukup a message is: <A

Does anyone have any information on these New Kent Co. Clarkes? Here is my
line as I know it:
My great-grandmother was Emma Jane Clarke Kidd, b. about 1882-3. I'm not
sure of the exact date because she apparently lied on her marriage license
to make herself a year or two older. She was married in 1899 to Albert F.
Kidd.
Her father was Tom Clarke. Now here is the mystery. I had always heard his
name was Thomas Benjamin Clarke, but I was told recently about a marriage
record that gives his name as Albert T(homas) Clarke. He was b. ca. 1850-55
and married first Isabella Craddock Adams, a young widow, then two more
wives. He fathered numerous children.
His father was--and here we have a conflict with names again--Robert M.
Clarke or Benjamin M. Clarke. It seems to have been recorded both ways. The
above referenced marriage document lists him as Benjamin and his wife as
Jane. We believe she was Jane Mountcastle.
After this, I hit a dead end with the Clarkes.
If anyone has any information on these folks, I'd appreciate it--especially
if you can clear up the differences with the names.
Thanks,
Dianne Walsh

Are you confused by the above "subject line"? So was I. It would help if
you folks would change the subject line when you change the subject in
replying. Particularly if you want the rest of us to pay attention. When a
subject line talks about UNSUBSCRIBE, it is usually deleted without reading.

Hi Joe,
I'm temporarily at a dead end. I am still trying to locate the parents of
William F. Clark, with no luck so far. Thanks for offering to help.
Jimmy
I'm looking for any connections to Robert (b ca 1720).
Robert resided in Powhatan & Goochland and was married to an Amanda ( MNU).
He had a son Robert who married a Mary (MNU).
Robert Jr. & Mary had children Edward D., Henry J., Mildred A. and they adopted Pamila Hix
Do you have anything on this Clark line from Indiana??
My CLARK ancestor was named Joseph Marion Clark b 1840 Hancock
Co, Ind.
He was the son of Joseph CLARK b 1813 Fayette Co, Ind
other sons:
Willliam Perry CLARK b 1838 Hancock Co, Ind
Benjamin Clark b 184?, d 1843
This family line has several William Perry Clarks and Joseph
Marion Clarks. I do not know the name of Joseph Clark b 1813
parents or siblings.

My grandfather's sister was Josephine CLARK b abt 1877 in Tn. Their parents
were Timothy "Dock" CLARK & Mary E. McROY. There was an older sister listed as
M. S. CLARK b abt 1871 & brother T. L. CLARK b abt 1873 & sister Mollie CLARK b
abt 1875. All of these children were listed on the 1880 Fed Census in Wilson
Co., Tn. Mary E. McROY evidentally died sometime before Dec 24, 1884 as Timothy
CLARK remarried to Sarah Sallie MURPHEY on that date. I don't find these
children on 1900 census.
I wondered if anyone was researching the above Josephine CLARK? I have a
postcard that was sent by her to my grandparents dated Nov 3, 1910 postmark was
Nashville, Tn. It was just signed "Josie" & addressed to "Brother & Sister".

Hi!
I'm new to the list and have been at an absolute dead end when trying to
find information about my grandfather. I'm hoping someone can help me!
His name is Morton Leigh Clark, born 15 Feb 1902 and died January 1980 in
Bradenton, Florida. Married Bernice Daley, divorced and then married Marie
???.
I've requested his social security application but have yet to receive it.
I'm hoping that will give me more information but if any of you have any
info I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

Counties in VA & KY?
I could not match them in my data base but perhaps with some additional
info I may have the line...
Thanks
