Hello Clark Researchers,
My gg-grandparents were Mary "Polly" MULLINS and Caleb CLARK who
married 1828 in Hall Co., GA. In 1830 and 1840, there was a John
MULLINS living next door to them. Caleb and Mary Mullins CLARK later
moved to Talladega/Clay Co., AL.
I received a message yesterday from a distant cousin asking if I knew
anything about Alfred CLARK and Mary (Martha) MULLINS CLARK of Hancock
Co., GA; and Malone MULLINS of Hancock Co. I know nothing about these
folks, but apparently there is a possibility they were connected with my
family.
If any of you have any information on these folks, please contact me. I
will be happy to share what I have.
Good luck in your research, and have a great day.
Warm regards,
Sharon Clark

Does anyone know if John Sevier CLARK of Pendleton Dist/Pickens Co, SC
(and maybe Anderson Co, SC) could have been the father of Ruth A. CLARK
who was b. in Pickens Co when it was till Pendleton (9-30-1814)? Was he
married to a woman whose maiden name was MILLER? Would appreciate any
information. Thanks, Becky
Hi,
My server sold CWIX to PRODIGY.. I had to send a subscribe message to be
able to post from my address, but I can't unsubscribe my old address. Can
you tell me how I can fix this? I am on several rootsweb accounts and I am
getting double messages of them all. Thank you for any assistance.

Looking for information on John Madison CLARK born around 1887-1889 in Avinger, Cass Co., Texas. He married Lillie Earnestine Hill in Linden, Cass Co., TX on 2 Feb 1913. Lillie died at age 21 from pneumonia during child birth. He supposedly remarried twice after her death. Any info would be deeply appreciated.
I went to that CD lookup site and asked them to check Family Tree Maker
CD285 for Anson CLARK. This CD is an index to the 1870 census for
western Pennsylvania. The Anson is too young to be mine. However, the
nice man also included the other Clarks on that particular microfilm
roll, which covers part of Erie County, if you were looking for the
actual census. I stress that these are definitely not all the Clarks in
that county, but maybe you might see a familiar name. The roll is
number 1341. The number after the township is the page number on the
microfilm. All these Clarks are white.

Searching for any information on the M. V. CLARKE who married a BEVELS wife
either in Lincoln Co TN or in that area. All is know about his wife is that
she was the daughter of Lifus HOLT who was born in Kentucky and was married
to an unknown BENSON. M.V. CLARKE'S wife had two known sisters (and probably
other unknown siblings). One sister was born 3 June 1852 and was married to
R. A. STEWART, probably in or around Lincoln Co TN. The other sister was
named Lucinda Elizabeth "Lizzie" BEVELS, born 7 Dec 1841 in Williamson Co TN,
and married her first cousin, James Williams BEVELS, in Lincoln Co TN. Any
help greatly appreciated. If you know anything about this M.V. CLARKE, please
e-mail me at jpdanek(a)aol.com.

I am now at the point of working in CT on my wife's Clark line. However, I am working primarily in
Litchfield and Fairfield Cos., where I have seen no Anson's as of yet. If I go further afield and
find anything I will let you know.

Went there - was surprised at all the family names.
Lots of them are from the Midwest - Indiana, Kentucky, and nearby states.
Thanks for the site...

Is anyone concentrating their research in CT? I'm finding that the
first name Anson is most prevalent there. I think Anson's wife's family
came from there originally, too, which might explain how they met.

HELLO FELLOW CLARK LISTERS:
Below is the description of a family Bible that is for sale at the
link following the description. This is a sight I just recently found that
is loaded with valuable family heirlooms that have been "found" through the
travels of Larry Ford & Eric Nagle as they search their family history. I
have no connection to this sight, but I found it very interesting and one
everyone should know about.

dropped from the last name). Elviar Elizabeth Grantham Clark born July 28,
1826, died July 16, 1887
Nancy Dalton Clark
Neomie Bruce Clark
Elvira Elizabeth Clark born 6-28-1826 ( a discrepancy because page 1 says
7-28-1826) the death dates are diff. also died 6-16-1884 page 1 says
7-16-1884)
John Clark, b. 1838
William Clark b. June 23, 1788 died Oct 24, 1859. (my comment: his wife
Neoma and he are both buried at Arcola Hickory Grove Cemetery in Arcola,
Missouri)

Probably more Clark information was listed on page 81 and 83 but did not
pertain to the information I was seeking. If you need additional
information contact the Dade County Genealogical Society, Greenfield,
Missouri or go to the Website of Dade County in Missouri for additional help.
Hope this is of benefit to someone.

(Writers comment: The Clarks came from N. Carolina to Grainger Co., Tenn.
Then to Ind. and then to Missouri)
The Hail family is also mentioned in the bible and also is a Samuel B.
Bruce listed. He died May 29, 1857.

>Melanie: Thank you so very much for the information. Bev Clark and I
have both been researching Jesse. Her grgrgrandfather is Jasper Newton
Dalton a brother to my grgrgrandfather Willima Clark Meredith Dalton, both
sons of Jesse Dalton and Nancy Smith Clark Dalton. It was because of Bev
that we located Nancy S Clark Dalton in Dade County, Missouri living on a
farm with her son Jasper Newton Dalton. She also has information that was
copied from a Clark family
>bible. We do not know who wrote the information in the bible but it does
state as follows:
>"Away back in 1868 Newton Dalton, when I lived with Allen Edwards; Newton
Dalton ast me if he mite have this bible when I waas dead and gon, I told
him yest and I want him to have it if he wants it when I am ded so give it
to him" This information was given to her by another researcher on her Hail
surname. Bev and I do know this, that Allen Edwards was the husband of
Sarilda M Dalton, who was the daughter of Jesse William Dalton and Nancy
Smith Clark Dalton. So we do know of the connection there.
>
>Also I just received some information from the Dade County Genelogical
Society and is is titled "Dade County Missouri Families" and shows a Nancy
S Clark b. 1828 d/o William Clark and Naomi, married Newton Dalton (we know
that they were not married but were mother and son) It also shows a Naomi
Clark b. Ca 1825 d/o William and Naomi married (Div) James Micklebury Bruce
(the Bruce surname is also a connected family with Bev.
>Also in the family bible it shows these children (we don't know for sure
just who had the bible first and would have made these notations but it is
thought that Joseph Clark may have been the first owner of the bible
(published in 1803), then William Clark and then the Bruce family.
>It shows William Clark as born June 23, 1788, died Oct 24, 1859.
>Also Jasper Newton Dalton was born 1854 Missouri died Golden City,
Missouri married Aug 1889 Ellen England. Jasper and Ellen had three
children: Attaline May aka Lina Dalton b. 1890 Jackson Co., Mo. d. 1972
>Gemima Dalton b. 1895 d. 1967 Dade Co., Missouri and Matha aka Matthew
Dalton b. 1895, Mo d. 1970 Dade Co., Missouri.
>I am in the process of trying to get copies of Matha and Jaspers family
bible.
>As you can see from the above information, there may be a connection with
Jesse 's wife Nancy Smith Clark and the William and Naomi ?Clark mentioned
in the Dade County Family information. Bev and I have yet to prove that
out.
>As soon as I get further information, will be glad to share with everyone.
Bev is also a member of the Dalton Gang Newsletter.
>Bev did find some land transactions for Jesse William Dalton 3 to be
exact, one was filed in Lexington, Mo. located in Jackson county but the
other two were filed in Clinton, Mo. and that is not nor ever has been a
part of Jackson county. So possibly, Jesse and Nancy and their youngest
children left Jackson county and migrated to Clinton, Mo. We have been
unable to find any burials in Dade County for Nancy and are checking out
Barton County (Dade was a part of Barton County).
>Thats all for now. Thank you again.

Looking for info on Thomas Clarks parents. Some records that I have found at
the genealogical society say he moved to Nippenose Valley, Lycoming County
Pa, with two brothers. I believe the brothers names were Francis and John.
One of the brothers drew up and signed the "Tiadagton Treaty" on July 4, 1776
as they were the only literate family in the valley at the time. They were
a prominent military family of that time and came to the area as homesteaders
from Virginia. Here is 3 gen. of info that I have if anyone can add to
anything please let me know. Or if you connect & would like more info let me
know.
Thanks!

Interested in any information about the Clark(e) family of
Williamsport, Pennsylvania, from 1790's to the present. The first of this
line was Thomas Levitt Clark(e), a British soldier during the American
Revolution, who returned to this county after the War with his wife, Sarah
Lyon. Their son, William was born May 5, 1797 and later married Martha
Rathmell of Northumberland County, PA. They may have had another son named
Hopewell who was born May 27, 1806.
William Clark(e) and Martha Rathmell were married November 14, 1822
and had the following children: Sara Jane Clark(e) born March 9, 1823; Thomas
Levitt Clarke, born February 6, 1825; Elizabeth Pendrid Clark(e), born
February 21, 1827; Jason Rathmell Clark(e), born February 19, 1828; James
Wesley, born November 25, 1830; Mary Louisa Clark(e), born September 19,
1832, and Hopewell Clark(e), born July 11, 1834.
Thomas Levitt Clark(e) married Margaret Summers and had a daughter,
Martha Ann Clark(e) who married Fielder Montgomery Magruder Beall of
Maryland. Jason Rathmell Clark(e) married Sarah Elizabeth Dalbey of Berwick,
Columbia County, PA. James Wesley married Mary Packer, whose father was
elected Govenor of Pennsylvania in 1857.
Any information about these Clark(e)s, their descendants, or spouses
would be greatly appreciated.

In checking the Mount Hope Cemetery, Anson, Jones Co., Texas, for some of my
ancestors I came across these Clarks...I took digital pictures if anyone
would like to have a copy ... hope this will help someone...
In a curbed family plot, left-right:
Mattie L. Clark 1860-1930
Joseph Clark 1853-1940
Mother: Mrs. T. J. Scott 1837-1934
Father: T. J. Scott 1830-1927
I assume Mother and Father are Mattie's parents...directly behind the family
plot:
Thomas A. Clark b.26 Feb 1887; d. 29 June 1896
Let me know if you want the pictures...
