I am looking for info on Harlow J. Clark who was born in CT about 1803
and he died on 9 Mar. 1883 in Middlebury, CT
he married on 6 May 1824 Clarissa daughter of Truman Stoddard and Sarah
Pardee
Thank you in advance
Holly
Thanks Jan....
I assume you mean Lavina d, 1790 ae 36 rather than 1740....
Also, do you have the code for source for "LEB" ?
I also gather from your posting that these could be two different
Lavina's rather than the same one?

Hi Linda & others...
I have:
Name Nathaniel CLARK, my #11856
Sex: M
Born 6 Aug 1720 Lebanon, New London Co., CT
Died 1810
Wife: Martha (WITT) WITTE
who had a daughter Levina and 10 other kids around this time period.
If you can supply the first names of YOUR Lavinia Loomis' kids maybe the
naming patterns can give a clue...
Also.. I would appreciate the other names of William (my #10303) and
Lydia (LAMB) Clark's kids from the LDS data so I can add to my data base.
I have them and their ancestors but no children listed...

Looking for information on a man named Daniel Clark born in Ogemaw County,
Long Lake Michigan in 1888. Daniel was supposedly one of a set of
quadruplets. I would imagine during this period of time that it would have
been newsworthy. I've been told by a member of the family that the babies
were all adopted. Daniel was adopted by a unmarried woman named Lucy Clark.
I have no real idea if this Lucy Clark was his namesake or an aunt, cousin
or even his grandma! Anybody that has a Daniel in this area, please
respond....

is found on pages 15-16. I have typed it exactly as it appears in the
book. I am unsure of some of the abbreviations, but I am new to this so

Don't know if this info will help but ran across it while looking for
something else.

Joe and everyone researching this line,
I have just heard from a sister researcher of my Samuel Clark (b. 1770)
line who called to my attention the pronunciation of the McGaughey
surname (see Prepare CLARK m. William McGaughey). We believe this may
lend weight to the possibility that Samuel Clark is ours. We have
several CLARK/GUFFEY marriages in our S. Central Kentucky line, the
GUFFEYs having come from VA and the spelling of the name being a
variation of numerous spellings, including McGUFFEY (or McGaughey!!!).
Anyone researching these lines please be on the lookout for information
that may either document or disqualify our Samuel CLARK as a son of John
Gridley Clark and Frances McClintick.
Oh, a couple of interesting footnotes--John B. Clark, grandson of Samuel
Clark, Sr. and s/o Jesse Clark, Sr. married Sarah "Sally" Guffey, d/o
Henry Guffey and Andrier Howard of VA. Henry Guffey died in Putnam
County, Missouri. Interesting considering that William & Prepare Clark
McGaughey died in Putnam County, Indiana.
2nd note: Jesse Clark, Sr., s/o Samuel Clark, Sr., married Sarah
"Sally" Bell. Sally's 1st husband was Andrew HIGGINOTHAM, whose family
came from what is present day West Virginia. Andrew's brother
Oglesberry settled in Greenbrier County WV before migrating to
Cumberland County KY. His son Charles Lewis Higginbotham's family
figured prominently in Wayne County in my Clark line. My husband's
grandfather was named Hubert OGELSBERRY Clark. That John Gridley Clark
died in Greenbrier county surely must be more than a mere coincidence.
3rd note: Old Kentucky Entries and Deeds show a William Clark received
60 acres on Otter Creek on February 11, 1780. Could he have a
connection to the William Clark (#4443) s/o James Clark who died in
Monroe Co, WV? (My Andrew Higginbotham came from Monroe County, WV to
Wayne County.) Also a Robert Clark, Jr. received 3,000 acres on the
South Fork of Otter Creek in Wayne County. This is the precise area
Samuel Clark, Sr. settled. Could it be that Robert Clark, Jr., was
Robert Clark #6560 s/o Robert Clark #4440? I note that Robert Clark Sr.
served in the Revolutionary War in Capt Cunningham's Company. If I'm
reading Joe's info correctly, Robert Clark, Sr., was the brother of John
Gridley Clark, which would have made him uncle to John's son Samuel.
Samuel & Robert Jr. would have been 1st cousins. Could there be record
of land transactions between the two?
Folks, there are so many "coincidences" it's scary. If my Samuel isn't
John Gridley Clark's son, he should be!!!! Sure could use some help
from anyone descended from these lines.
