I've unearthed the 1860 indices for Indiana. They are divided into
northern counties, southern countis, and Indianapolis. Please note
these only give the name of the head of the household, and they're only
the pages devoted to the surname CLARK. With those provisos, I'll be
happy to do lookups.

I wonder if any one is searching for Christian Clark, b. c 1885. I have

He is not there in 1850.

Hi-
It's been a while since I've posted my "problem" ancestor, so I
thought I'd try again.
My gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather was Elijah Clark. He was born in 1772
(possibly in Hartland, Connecticut). At the time of his marriage, in
March 1796, to Katherine Francis, he was listed as "of Hartland"
(according to the Pre-1800 Connecticut Marriages book). I know that he
and Katherine had at least 1 son, Cornwall Wait (b.1807). Elijah died
in August 1825 in Hartland (his death is recorded in the church register
of the First Congregational Church of Hartland).
Does anyone have any information on Elijah's parents, siblings, his
wife, Katherine, or additional children? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Lara Grant

Someone on one of my surname lists asked me to do a lookup in Hawaii for
a relative who had married a Lyman. I wasn't able to do it. Last
night, I saw that the Family Tree Maker website has an online book of
Lyman genealogy that might help whoever that was.

I'm gradually digging out boxes of genealogy notes from when I was more
mobile. I found the following MICHIGAN indices I'd be happy to search:
Michigan, 1850 (incomplete)
Michigan, 1860
Detroit, 1860
Michigan, 1870
Detroit, 1870
Please remember these are all heads of household only; so it does no
good to tell me the wife's or children's names.
