Does anyone in Missouri have a lineage ont he above Clark's? I believe my g/grandmother could have been a sibling, Hettie (Hattie) A. H. Clark born 1850, married John David Mincher in Franklin County, Mo - 1871. Thanks for any help.

I have little to offer for everyone's help, but I did find this from
"History of Monroe Co., MI," Talcott E. Wing, Ed., Munsell & Co., NY,
1890
Walter P. Clarke was born in RI, came ti MI in 1832, and settle in
Monroe in 1834, where he commenced the grocery business, which he
continued for some years. In 1842 he was elected mayor of the city, and
until his removal west, in connection with railroad construction
constracts, he was one of the leading business and public men of the
place.
In connection with the late Thomas g. cole, Mr. Clarke was a moving
spirit in the construction of the Michigan Souther & Norther Indiana RR
from Monroe to Adrian. They founded the village of Deerfield, and built
the mills at that place.
After the completion of this work, Mr. Clarke, with his three sons
(Walter Pl, Stephen G., and Frank B. Clarke), undertook heavy contracts
for construction of sections of track on the MI Central, IL Central, the
Rock Island, & the Chicago, burlington & Quincy RR.
After the completion of these enterprises he purchased a farm in IL,
upon which he resided for several years, but finally returned to Monroe,
where the mother of his children and partner of his joys and sorrows
died, April 11, 1870. Mr. Clarke was a kind and devoted husband and
father, a warm-hearted, genial, and obliging friend and neighbor.
He was buried on tuesday, march 5, 1875, at 2:00 p.m., from Trinity
Church, of which he was a member, leaving in addition to the 3 sons
named above, 1 daughter, who was married to the Hon. Jos. M. Sterling,
of Monroe.
To Daniel Cotner re Robert Clark: I'm sorry. I don't have men born
that late.
To Mary Garrison re John Clark: Haven't got him.
To MHersey re Roger Clark from Ireland: no luck

Family tradition says that Ephraim Clark, b: 1776 is directly related to
Geroge Rogers Clark or William Clark. It is believed by some that he is the
brother to one of them. Also the Custer line is supposed to be related to
George Armstrong Custer and my family still has some artifacts of his and his
wife. There are also some items that belonged to Zachary Taylor and there
should be a tie with this family also.
Does anyone have the family of any of these names so we can prove or
disprove old family stories. I have much more on the names listed above and
will share.

Sandra,
Sadly for you, Ephraim was not a brother to George Rogers and
William Clark. I don't know enough about the family to know if he was related
in some other way.

To Jim Jewhurst,
Sorry, I have nothing on your Dr. Andrew Clark.
To everyone else,
I apologize for being late with many of your queries. I've been
particularly unwell lately.
According to the History Channel, when Lincoln was shot, he was carried
across the street to a rooming house and given the bed of Pvt. William
Clark. After his death, the landlord replaced the bloodsoaked mattress,
but Clark continued to sleep on the bed itself and to use the coverlet
until gawkers make the landlord put the bed away.
Looking for info on this family:
Alexander CLARK married to Mary BOYD(E) possibly born in Scotland.
Their child, William Alexander CLARK born 2/17/1877, Merritton (St.
Catharine's area) Lincoln County, Ontario, Canada..
Another child may be John CLARK.
This family may have emigrated from Ontario through Niagara Fall to NY.
There is a connection to MA and Ct.
Any info or direction appreciated.
Thanks.
Looking for living relatives:
Willard E. CLARK married to Letitia BARNWELL, both born 1869 in Stratford Ct.
Willard was a carpenter in Stratford/Bridgeport/Millford and disappeared from
the records in CT around 1914. I do not know Willard's parents' names.
Letitia had 10 children and moved to RI with her youngest ones where she died
c 1924. Letitia's parents were William BARNWELL and Catherine DONAHUE, both
of Ireland.
There was a Matthew CLARK listed in the 1820 census index for Pendleton
Co, SC (page 168). Does anybody have any further information on him or
any ancestors or descendants? Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Becky Smith, Kerrville, TX

Trying to resolve a CLARK riddle in Wisconsin.
I have my gaunt marrying in New Haven, Dunn County, WI to an
Edmund A. Clark on 4 July 1886. Wife Mary C. BARDEN (great aunt).
Mary C. is a sister to Rev. Seth Dana BARDEN & Frank BARDEN.
Marriage noted in Dunn County News on July 31, 1886.
Mary is daughter of Horace McKendry BARDEN & Phoebe L. BLOOD.
Seth was noted earlier marrying Elsie J. GREEN also at New Haven, on
31 May 1890. Elsie daughter of Matthew GREEN & Amelia FORD.
What happened to Edmund A. CLARK, Mary C. CLARK and Elsie J.
GREEN? They apparantly all departed on a 'hot air ballon' after these
events.
Any help would be appreciated.
