I am stumped. After several years of trying, I have found that my
gr-grandmother's maiden name was Clark. She was Margaret Jane "Maggie"
Clark, born 11 Feb 1869 in Texas (don't know where). She married
Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Potts around 1890 and had her first child (my
grandmother) in Thrifty, Texas in 1891. She died outside Wichita Falls,
Texas 14 Mar 1928. She and Frank had 13 children. I know they lived
around Brownwood 1890-1909, Llano 1910, and in Wilbarger County, Texas
1920's-1928.
Where I am stumped is....I cannot find anything on her parents or
siblings. My mom lived with them, but she doesn't remember any kin on
Maggie's side of the family. If you know of any Clarks who lived in
these areas, please contact me. Even with all the hours at the library,
I haven'e been able to establish a trail yet. Thanks.

Hello Clarke's
I am new to the list and am requesting information from anyone who would have
information on the family of Faith Clark born about 1619 in England who
married Edward Doty 6 Jan 1635 in Plymouth, Plymouth Cty, MA She died 21 Dec
1675 in Marshfield, Plymouth Cty, MA. Her father is listed as Thurston
Clarke born about 1588 in England. Any information on this family would be
welcome

Hi all you CLARK kin - In my organized disorganization, I ran across a Great
Register of Voters Registration for a Charles C. CLARK, who was living in San
Bernardino, California, on August 27, 1869, when he registered to vote. He
was age 26 at the time, born in Kentucky. Just thought maybe this would help
someone. There seems to be a lot of Kentucky CLARKs, and this just may be
your elusive Charles that went to California.
Hope it helps someone.

All of a sudden I'm realizing that I get "mult-part message in MIME" messages
at the top of e-mails I'm posting to rootsweb lists (examples below). I know
this has been discussed before, but I never paid much attention because it was
not affecting me personally. But this sudden litter at the front of my
messages drives me nuts, as I'm sure it does some of you all. Is there a way
to turn it off? I'm on AOL. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Then later they named the second son Thomas (unknown middle name).
I think Thomas must be the father's name of one or both parents. I've tried

Since my computer has been "in the update mode" and out of town - for a
month or so, I would like to re-submit my query for ELLIOTT ALEXANDER
CLARK aka ALEXANDER ELLIOTT CLARK, ALEC, ALEX, etc. Here are the
facts:
He was in MOBILE COUNTY, AL by 1830;
He moved next door to JACKSON COUNTY, MS by 1840;
Owned 1,000 acres of land (from tax rolls)
He was in the 1850 census, J/Co as having been born in NC ca 1779;
He was dead by 1853.
His wife was "MARY" maiden name unknown, born SC ca 1783;
Their first child JAMES MADISON CLARK was born in KY!
Due to courthouse fires here I have only one document - a quit claim
from the widow to THOMAS RHODES that lists all the children & spouses.
Any help with this mystery man will be greatly appreciated - I have
his family complete from 1840. I have done extensive research in NC;
SC; and KY and surrounding states. I have missed him somewhere!

I am searching for any and all information on my great grandfather,
William Albert Clark b.1856 d.1948 in Livingston Parish, LA.
The only thing I know of him is that he married Mary Rougolph and they
had, as far as I can tell, 1 child--William (Willie) Clark.
I have not been able to find when William Albert came to Louisiana or
where he came from. Family stories says he came from Ireland when he
was about 2 years old. Came on a ship to New Orleans, LA. The ship
was supposed to have sank before it docked. I have not found a ship
that sank in New Orleans.
HELP!!

Charles should be listed in the 1910 census of Boone co. MO. Additionaly he
should be listed in the other census records back to 1850...and possibly 1860
where he will be listed as a child in the home of his parents.
By starting in 1910 when you know where to look for him ...you will find his
age, state of his birth, and the states of his parents births. This will give
you additional clues as you where to look in the preceding census. The
records are generally indexed now..so a good library can be very helpful to
you.
Good hunting.
