Greetings Fellow CLARK / CLARKE Family Researchers!
Brian Leverich, owner and operator of RootsWeb, along with Karen
Isaacson, asked that the following be passed along to ROOTSWEB
mail lists. Please read fully, and if you are both able and willing to help,
and haven't done so already, please access the web page URL found
at the bottom of this message to learn how we each can help to support
this service which has been of such great benefit to so many of us, and
yet holds promise of help for those of us still searching for an elusive
ancestor's family!

RootsWeb has *no* "main sponsoring org". No university, no
government agency, no gensoc, no business, nobody but *you*.
We are *entirely* supported by voluntary contributions.
Our hardware and bandwidth budget for the last year was in the
neighborhood of $60,000, of which about two-thirds were individual
contributions and the rest came out of Karen and Brian's pockets.
Apple Computer also donated a server to RootsWeb, which augments the
other 4 main servers we've bought.
Karen and I have also donated our time as system administrators, as
did the other RootsWeb folks.
Next year's costs will be well over $100,000 and possibly as high as
$200,000, depending on whether we have the resources to start buying
datasets and uploading them for everyone to freely use.
RootsWeb wouldn't have happened without the support of the Internet
genealogical community, and we need continued support if we're going
to keep expanding the services that are available to the community.
Thanks to everyone who is helping us make this happen! -B
[ BTW, please feel free to redistribute this to your lists. It
worries me that folks don't realize that their contributions are
are the *only* thing that keeps RootsWeb alive. ]

Hi All,
I am writing this because I have seen so many people write in and say
they delete most of the messages before they are read if the names they
are searching are not in the heading of the message. I am a Genealogist,
and I leave no stone unturned. It is a good idea to read all messages,
if you have time and a large hard drive. Each message is inquiring about
a person or family thay are searching for. There might be a connection
to a sister or brother of your family which may lead you to a mother or
father or maybe both. Fo example, names that are so common as Jones. I
save all messages with the Jones Surname in the same time frame, or
earlier, and area where my Thomas Jones, son of James, was born. It
could lead me to a brother or sister of my James Jones, which I have no
information on at the present time. I may get a lead that wayon James
Jones Parents. You probably all knew this, but I just wanted to throw it
out there. As a Genealogist, we search every piece of the puzzle and
don't discard any piece until it is thoroughly investigated.
Thank you
Shawnnee

I'm looking for the ancestors of Curtiss Delano Clarke b. July 11, 1834
in New Hampshire; d. July 25, 1880 in Ludington, MI. He married Maria A.
Alexander on Jan 1, 1860 in Tunbridge, VT. She was born May 23, 1840 in
Vermont and died Dec 19, 1906 in Ludington, MI.
They had four children:
Tirza M. b. May 30, 1862; d. Nov 28, 1872
Hazen C. b. April 20, 1864; d. April 21, 1951
Horace F. b. June 29, 1869; d. Jan 31, 1945
William John b. Aug 3, 1879; d. Jan 6, 1971
Can anyone help me find these people?
Sandy
phoenix(a)voyager.net
I think the CLARKS names about every fourth son HENRY.
I have a Henry CLARK b. 1814 in CT.? m and Eliza (last name unknown) b. 1824
in Alabama. They had seven children, their names are:
Jesse J. b. 1843 in Ky.
John H. b. 1845 in Ky.
Elias E. b. 1847/48 in TX.
Samuel C. b. 1850 in TX.
Francis Marion b. 1852 in Polk Co., Ark.
Artimecia b. 1854 Ark.
Cynthia b. 1856 in ARK.
Wish someone could find me a connection to whom these CLARKS belong. I spent
all day yesturday in the library trying to find something on them. I did
find that when they came to TX. in the 1840's they came to Dallas Co.and when
they went to ARK. they went to Polk Co., to the Freedom Township which is
now Mena . Looking to hear from someone on these CLARKS. I also know some
of the CLARKS in Longview, TX. are kin to these and that their parents came
from Jacksonville, TX.
What I want most to learn is "Where did Henry and Eliza come from and who
were their parents". Thanks in advance for any help. Johnine
Frances CLARK, wife of Addis LYNN, appears on the 1860 census for LaSalle
County Illinois. She was 20, indicating a birthdate of 1840.
By coincidence (I suppose) I also have a collateral relative by the same
name, in Montana, who is said to be the daughter of a Dr. Robert CLARK of
Chicago.
Any help will be appreciated.
Beryl

Mar 1736. Family info says:
Terrance Clark (parents unknown) and family came originally from County
Down, Ireland. They settled first in New Jersey, then moved to western
Pennsylvania near the headwaters of the Ohio River. He moved his family
from PA when Martha was 8 years old (1781). He landed in Natchez, MS in
the
Mississippi Territory and bought land in Adams County several miles east
of
Natchez. They lived there a while, then moved to St. Landry Parish, LA.
After a short time they returned to their land in Adams Co., MS. St
Landry
Parish, LA was sometimes called "The Opelousas Country" at that time
since
it was in Spanish Territory.
Note: Spanish records show that Terrance Clark and Daniel Clark were
witnesses to a number of documents!! Could they be brothers or
cousins???
Anyone on the list researching this family? Anyone have any info to
share
about them with me? Were the children born in Ireland or America?

Possibly
had an earlier wife for the first born children. Probate records mention
his son's names and that his wife was Ann, but she may not have been the
mother of all his children.

I'm searching for ancestry of Daniel Zelith CLARK b ca 1800, possibly in
Miami Co, OH.
I found another Daniel Zelith CLARK on the index of Kindred Konnections.
He was listed as being married to Margaret Paulin BEAN.(I am not
familiar with this name). I, nor Kindred Konnections, could locate the
pedigree of that Daniel Zelith CLARK on their database. However, I
believe he would be related because of having such an unusual middle
