As corresponding secretary for Lawrence County Genealogy I have just done
some checking on Carpus Clark for Donna R. Mouton ( donnar(a)sisna.com ).
Shai and and Donna are researching the same family, which was in Lawrence Co,
OH in 1820. Most of the children were married here.

In the 1840 New York census for Onondaga County, NY, my 3rd great-grandparents Thomas and Sarah Clark are
listed at the top of one of the pages. Just down the page, on separate lines, are listed John and James Clark.
I believe that John and James were brothers to Thomas. Both brothers were in their late 20's at the time of
the census and both appeared to be married. The ages correspond exactly with the ages of the brother's of
Thomas.
In 1846, Thomas moved his family to VanBuren County, MI. I have no record of his brother's movement.
Therefore, I suspect that John and James remained in New York.
I would like to make contact with family members of James and John and compare notes for the entire family. I
am willing to share all information.

My question to you and to all queries such as this is, what does the
1880 census show for the birthplace of the individual and of the
parents?

Hello, Clark researchers,
I found my gggrandfather, Hiram Clark b. <1810> living in 1882 Oxford, Benton
Co, IN. as a 70+ year old man who help lay the final rails of the
Indiana-Chicago RR. He married Harriet (White) Smith b.<1810>. I don't know
where they came from, where they were born or where they were married. I
think they were Quakers. I know of two children, there were probably more?
1.Milton Lee Clark b. 1829
2.Nancy Jones Clark b. <1835>
Milton Lee Clark married Anna Catherine Birdsall d/o Daniel Birdsall in abt
1852.
They had the following children all born in Benton Co, IN ,I think. (The
Morman records say in London, Ont, Canada).
1.Curtis Clark b. 1857
2.Edwin Hiram Clark b. 1859 d. 1945, buried in Oxford, IN
3.Evalyn Clark b. 1861
4.Harriet Elma Clark b. 1864
5.Mary Jane Clark b. 1866
6.Charles Henry Clark b. 1868
7.Frank Clarence Clark b. 1870 d. 1939 Crestline, CA, DC says born in
Oxford, IN
8.Anna Catherine Clark b. 1873
Edwin Hiram Clark m. Leeta Bannon in Oxford, IN.
They had the following children:
1. Glenn R. Clark b. 1897 Oxford, IN m. 1.Catherine Morse 2. Belle Meek,
daughter Betty Lee Clark
2. Perry Edwin Clark b. 1899 Oxford, IN, d. 1955, Boise, ID, m. Betty Jean
Montgomery, daughter Barbara Lee Clark
3. Irma Clark b. 1901, Oxford, IN m. Sidney Baker, Norfolk, VA d. ? no
issue
Nancy Jones Clark m. David Branson
Nancy Jones Clark was from Madura, IN.
They has several children most of whom died.
1.Curtis Branson m. Jane Rendall White (possibly descended from Peregrine
White on the Mayflower)
They had the following children:
1.Hazel Ruth Branson b. 1894 d. young buried Oxford, IN
2. Anola Delight Branson b. 1896 d. young buried Oxford, IN
3. Rendall Clark Branson b. 1898 m. Alma Steward in OK., d. in L.A, CA
4. Helen Taylor Branson b. 1900

Does anyone have a C. Clark, born in NJ and married a John Johnson also born
in NJ. The time frame is 1800-1810 for their respective births. Their son
William Frederick Johnson was born in Muncie, Il. March 10, 1856.
Thanks, Chris Snyder
Bonnie,
I have a Thomas CLARK and Ann BECK but they are from England and don't
seem to have a Charles for a son. Their children are Sarah, John,
William, Mary Ann, Thomas, Frank, Ann. All born in England the first in
1831. I don't know if this helps sorry.

Hi,
I just found out where my gg grandfather, Hiram Clark b. <1810> who married
Harriet White? Smith b. <1810> was living in 1882. He was well past 70 at
that time and living in or near Oxford, Benton Co., IN Territory. I have no
dates or any further info except that he was a respected townsman who helped
lay the last rails for the Indiana-Chicago RR as it came through the town. I
think he was Quaker but have not seen any Indiana Quaker MM records yet. I
am thinking that he came to the Indiana Territory from some other place as a
young man.
I descend from a long line of Quakers going back to LI, NY, namely William
Thorne,
John Bowne of Flushing, LI, NY. Also Shotwell and Birdsall, Quaker families.
These families are mentioned in The Lundy Family book, 1902.
I know Hiram's son, was Milton Lee Clark b. <1829> married Anna Catherine
Birdsall b.<1835>. Her father, Daniel Birdsall, was one of the first
settlers in Benton Co, IN. Hiram's daughter, Nancy Jones Clark, married
David Branson.
Is it possible that Hiram Clark is descended from your Clarks? I saw a
William Clark on the original William Penn books of early PA property owners.
Could this be your William Clark?
Please respond. Thanks.

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone have these folks in their database? I'm willing to share
information.
Henry CLARK (?-?) married Della RIFE (1884-March 1935)
Della appears to be from Blue Creek, Elk River, Kanawha County, West Virginia
area. Not sure which county Henry CLARK was born in, but was probably
Kanawha.
Child of this union:
Walter R. CLARK, Sr. (8/1901-12/1951) married Rosa KIDD (2/1906-5/1985)
on November 13, 1920.
There were nine children from this marriage.
Who were Henry's parents, siblings, etc.?
Thanks,

Hi all,
It's great to be back in touch! Just got a new lead from
Kanawha Co. marriage records which shows Charles Clarke is
son of THOMAS and ANNE Clarke and that he was born in 1828
in WYTHE CO. VA.
Does anyone have Thomas and Anne in their files?

Looking for information on William Parker Clarke, born 1840-41 in Utica,
New York. The source is his enlistment records for the 96th Illinois
Infantry in August 1862.
Is there anyone researching Clarkes in the Utica, Oneida Co., NY, area in
the 1840s?
Have not found him in the 1850, 1860, or 1870 census. Found him in
Jefferson Co., NY, with a family in 1880 census.
Thanks for any help.
